am Marianne and both my guides and I are Professional Photographers, my family and I, have lived and worked this land, since the early 1700's . My self and my guides would love to share this beautiful landscape that we call "Heaven On Earth" with you. Listen to ancient folklore stories about this area. Spectacular breath taking scenery. Jaw dropping fjords, will almost make you speechless. You can look forever; but we will take you directly to where the real action is. In winter we have days when the sun does not rise above the horizon from 28th of November to the 15th of January known as a blue day White tailed sea and golden eagles all join in on the free bonanza of fish that are attracted by the warm water's of the gulf stream. Reindeer can be seen scraping the snow covered tundra, as they move around in search of food. Seals, Otters, stoat's and foxes can show up at any time any where. Just remember that it’s wild animals and we can’t guarantee it.

Heaven on Earth, Indeed!

If you're visiting Tromsø and want to see places that most tourists never get to, I highly recommend Heaven on Earth Tours with Marianne. From the moment she picked us up from our hotel on the Tromso waterfront, it felt like spending the day with a local friend rather than being on a tour. Although it was advertised as a 4-hour tour to Kvaloya , we were out for about 4½ hours because Marianne never rushed us. We stopped whenever there was a beautiful view, giving us plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. It was just the two of us on the tour, yet there was no extra charge, and it felt like having our own private guide. She took us to some incredible off-the-beaten-path locations, including traditional fishermen's huts with living grass roofs, stunning pristine beaches, and beautiful Grøtfjord, where we even picked wild berries. One of my favourite moments was standing by a quiet fjord where the only sounds were a distant bird and the gentle wind creating ripples on the water. Coming from the busy life in the UK, the peace and stillness were unforgettable. We even had an entire beach to ourselves. Marianne took us to Tromvik the village where she said she spent her early childhood. That was a unique place, and we met some reindeer in the village where we could see them upclose without any restriction. Marianne is an expert in photography and was happy to share tips on how to capture the best shots. She was always willing to take photos of us, so we came home with many wonderful memories. A special mention also goes to her lovely dog, Kara, who came along for the tour. She was incredibly well-behaved and happily posed for photos with us as if she had done it all her life! This was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Tromsø. If you’re looking for a relaxed, personalised tour that takes you off the beaten path and showcases the true beauty of the area beyond the typical day trip, I highly recommend booking with Marianne. You won’t regret it!

A real 'photographers' tour!

Whilst in Tromso, we went on two tours that were both supposed to be for photographers. One of them just drove us round the typical car park vantage points but the trip with Marianne was quite different: It was clearly designed by a highly experienced local photographer to take us to places where we could do some serious landscape photography and not just a few typical tourist pics. We finished the day quite elated to have explored some really wild scenery and been able to take so many fantastic pictures or some really special places.

Stunning scenery

We went on this half day tour and were lucky enough to be the only 2 in the group. The tour took us through the fjords and we had plenty of photo opportunities as we stopped plenty along the way. Our guide Marianne was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all the questions we put to her as she has extensive knowledge of the area. We had hot chocolate and cookies and took some stunning photos of the local scenery. It’s essential to wear warm clothing on this tour and take a snack. Can thoroughly recommend this tour.

A daytour with Marianne

We had an exraordinary day with Marianne, showing us this beautiful part of the earth. The small village where she grew up seemed like the end of the world to us. These landscapes are a dream, and Marianne brought this paradise closer to us with great passion and wonderful stories. She was a wonderful driver and host. Thank you very much for this day and we hope that you will have time to be our guide whenever we come back.

Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour.: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.

How much does Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour. cost?

+

Prices start at $1200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour. take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.

Is Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour. worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 53 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour.?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour. suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour.?

+

Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half-Day Scenic Wildlife & Photographic Fjord Tour. start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tromso?

+

On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Minibus Chase from Tromsø with Chasing Lights, Northern Lights Big Bus Chase with Chasing Lights, Tromsø Northern Lights Chase We Go Where The Lights Appear. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
