We saw Condors up close...

We saw Condors up close and flying both below and above the spot from where we were watching. Christabel was an outstanding guide as well as being a very interesting person. On this trip there are many quiet aces with great Andes vistas. Christabel was an outstanding guide.

Brilliant condor photo trip to the snowy Andes

We wanted to photograph the condor and Matias Silva organised a private tour. Our guide, Frank Normann, was excellent and we drove for 90 minutes up to Valle Nevado. Nothing there. We then descended to Farellones and for a couple of hours saw many condors quite close, with one male perching on the nearby hotel. On the way down Frank spotted a pair of eagles. We stopped and we also saw a pair of foxes.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We’re glad we could organize a private tour tailored to your goal of photographing condors. Nature can always be unpredictable, but we’re happy that persistence paid off and that Farellones offered such an incredible encounter, including close views of several condors and even a male perched nearby. We’re also delighted to hear that Frank’s keen eye added even more to the day, with sightings of eagles and foxes along the way. Thank you for trusting us with this experience, and we hope to welcome you again for another unique adventure in Chile.

Fun morning exploring on horseback

We had a wonderful morning riding horses just outside of Santiago. The weather was not great so we couldn’t see the Andean mountain vistas but it was fun to explore nature. The horses were friendly and our guide, Therese, who owned the stables was great to talk to. A native of the US, she’s been in chile for decades and shared lots of information about the area. Later we had some wine and cheese in the barn. We also enjoyed meeting the stable cats (Nacho, specifically) and our guide dog, Max.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re really happy to hear you had such a wonderful morning on horseback just outside Santiago. While the weather didn’t allow for the Andean views this time, we’re glad you still enjoyed exploring nature and connecting with the experience. It’s great to know the horses and the atmosphere made the ride special, and that you enjoyed spending time with Therese and hearing her stories and local insights after so many years in Chile. Sharing wine and cheese in the barn is always a nice way to wrap up the ride — and we’re glad Nacho the cat and Max the dog added an extra smile to the day. Thank you for choosing Andes Explora, and we hope to welcome you back again for another memorable experience. Matías

Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.

How much does Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip cost?

+

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.

Is Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip?

+

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half Day Private Trip to Valle Nevado with Cheese and Wine Carbon Neutral trip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?

+

On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 vineyards from Santiago., Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Santiago: Valparaiso, Viña del Mar & Casablanca Wine Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santiago?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santiago?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
