Well worth the money
We went out today on the half day fishing trip. The tides were horrible but we had so much fun. The Captain was great and Jack his mate was awesome and so helpful. We didn’t catch anything big or keepable but it was so much fun. We did catch a ton of small fish and small salt cats. Definitely worth the money. Plus we saw so many dolphins and even a sea turtle.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words about the crew! They work hard and I am glad you had fun! Thank you!

Great for kids or adults!
Based on weather the location and trip details can change but either way you will have a great boat ride and wonderful scenery and fun fishing. Captain and the Skipper were friendly and funny and super helpful. I caught a baby hammerhead shark and my husband caught a small white fish despite the windy weather.
Response from the operator: Thank you! I am glad you had great time!

Fun for the family
We went on 8a trip. We had about 5 people puke on the boat. We are assuming it was bc of the heat. Wyatt was very attentive to the people. Robert, the captain, was funny. We didn't catch much. It was a good family trip. You can bring your own cooler, for cold drinks. They do sell some for $2. Also, pack the motion sickness pills. Families were passing it around like candy.
Response from the operator: Thanks for fishing with us!

Not good.
Three hours of driving with about an hour of fishing. More miserable than fun. Captain is basically phoning it in at this point. They would have to PAY ME to go again.
Response from the operator: It takes about an hour and twenty minutes to get to the reef, give or take a few minutes depending on the tide. So, there is about two hours of fishing. Not sure what you mean about the captain, but he does have about 45 years of experience. Thanks for fishing with us.

Great Day on the water!
We had a great trip with a captain from my hometown in the Bronx. He was very professional and service-oriented, even though we had to limit our range due to the wind. We had to stay off shoreline to shark fishing. We didn't end up catching any sharks, but it was fun watching other people on the boat land a few.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hilton Head Island.
How much does Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hilton Head Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hilton Head Island is not rushed.
Is Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 60 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hilton Head Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hilton Head Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hilton Head Island and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Half Day Offshore Fishing Trip start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hilton Head Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hilton Head Island?
+
Hilton Head sells dolphin and sunset cruises out of Broad Creek, kayak and boat trips through Lowcountry salt marsh, bike rentals for the island trail network and shrimping demonstrations. On Outty we rank every Hilton Head Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Hilton Head Guided Kayak Nature Tour, Hilton Head Island Dolphin Boat Cruise, Daufuskie Island Guided History Tour from Hilton Head. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hilton Head Island?
+
March to May and September to November, warm without peak summer crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hilton Head Island?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
