I would not recommend...

I would not recommend this tour. We waited at the bike shop 20 minutes past the meetup time and the guy that did show up looked confused. He directed us to wait another 10 or so minutes. Then we got in a truck with who we assumed was everyone else in our group, they all had hotel pickup. The tour group max size was supposed to be 12, once we arrived at the tour start point other trucks arrived, and it grew to 17. The Thai tour guides were awesome! Good sense of humor and very kind. The tour itself is not worth $50 per person. The owner is very standoffish. He speaks only to the European customers. If you are looking for a bike tour, Buzzy Bee Bike was a far better tour.

Response from the operator: Dear Angel, Thank you for your feedback. As you booked a group tour with a meeting point at our office, hotel pickup was not included. On the day of your tour, we received a last-minute booking from a family of four just ten minutes before departure. In situations like this, we do our best to accommodate everyone rather than turn guests away, especially since this countryside tour takes place on quiet roads with very little traffic. Because of the larger group, we also arranged for an additional guide to accompany the tour to ensure everyone's safety and comfort. I was surprised to read your comments about the owner. I am the owner of the business, and we never met. On that day I was working at our shop in Chiang Mai city. The person you are referring to was most likely someone associated with the nearby resort, not our company. We are proud that almost all of our reviews are positive, and it is quite rare for guests to describe our tour as expensive. In fact, compared with similar operators, we are among the more affordable options. Our tour also includes a high-quality lunch, which you chose to skip. At the end of the tour, our guide looked for you to let you know that we would be happy to drop you off at your hotel. Unfortunately, you had already left in a Grab taxi before we could speak with you. You also mentioned another company that you believe offers a better tour. We respect our competitors, but it is worth noting that their tour is significantly more expensive. They also operate in the same area, following routes that are very similar to the ones we have been running successfully for more than 20 years. We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we appreciate the opportunity to clarify these points. Kind regards, Athit Owner

Lovely morning bike ride!

Picked up at our hotel and taken into to the countryside. Huge selection of bikes to choose from and then we were on our way with Win and a mechanic (sorry, didnt catch his name). Really enjoyed riding through the villages waving to the smiling local people. We had a stop where Win explained how rice is grown (fascinating) and two other stops to learn about aspects of local life and crafts (one with an included drink)...again, really interesting! After the ride we had a delicious lunch and were dropped back at our hotel. It was a very enjoyable morning, well organised and everything ran on time. Would highly recommend! Thank you 😊

Best full day bike ride ever

My family booked the full day tour which was approximately 48km. After being picked up from our hotel we were taken to our starting destination and asked to choose our bike for the day from a large shed full of varying bikes. They altered the bikes to suit our heights and needs. Once we were on our way, we rode alongside rice paddy fields. We were very interested in the rice fields, and asked many questions. We stopped and had a water break and got to see people at work. We never went thirsty as we had many water breaks as well as toilet breaks. As we were biking past temples we got the option to stop and look if we wanted. Lunch was amazing… it was a little shack on the side of the road where they cooked us a lovely chicken noodle stir fry and we got the best pineapple and mango smoothie ever. Following lunch we continued biking through the little villages. We stopped at a little place for a drink and discovered it’s where a wonderful lady does traditional hand carvings which we found mesmerising. All in all the day was very relaxing, we never felt rushed and we seen some spectacular sights. Our guide was fantastic, we had so much fun together (he teased dad and I about getting sore butts, and joked about how mum had chosen a bike with a sofa seat so no sore bottom for her). He answered all our questions and enjoyed joking around with dad about biking with no hands. He was light hearted and as such I would definitely recommend doing a bike tour with this company

Great bike tour! Go go go!

Great bicycle tour with our guide, Matthew 'Tew'. We were with 3 sporty people, so we speeded up a bit and did a real nice tour through the rice fields and beautiful villages with traditional houses mixed with modern. The green scenery with fruits and flowers everywhere was impressive. We made some stops for a drink and see local crafts. No commerce! :) After about 25 km (just right in this temperature) we arrived at the starting point and had well deserved cold drinks and lunch. Tew is highly educated, has a great sense of humor and is great biking mate! Many thanks! Cheers, Marco & Valerie

Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai cost?

+

Prices start at $500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai take?

+

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half-Day Lanna Countryside Cycling Tour in Chiang Mai start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
