The boat is very clean and well stocked with fishing poles and bait, the problem is that for the price you pay a four hour trip is too short for any meaningful fishing. It takes an hour to get out in an hour to get back in from an essence. You have two hours of fishing if that. The mates are friendly and helpful and like I said the boat is very clean.

    bait and switch

Early bird tour is 4 hours...they don't tell u ...that it takes them one whole hour to get to a fishing location....which makes the time 9 am when we get to said location ...we sat for 20 minutes nobody gets a nibble we switch locations 2 people get nibbles nothing to keep i ask a helper what is the fish radar seeing ...he says we dont use radar we just come to the ship wrecks...how can u not use radar ....i blink its 11 AM no keepers 1 nibble captain states thats it ..pull lines in wtfff..so we pay for 4 hours..but u get 2 hours with no fish radar....ass clown setup...

Response from the operator: Jamal, I am sorry to hear you are not happy with your four hour fishing trip. I would like to point out some details that I feel you have failed to specify in your comments. For starters at no point do we say it is four hours specifically of fishing. It is a four hour fishing trip which ALWAYS includes travel time which varies from thirty minutes to an hour. This way of timing a trip is the same on ANY fishing boat in the world. It is possible you are not used to going on fishing trips on boats, which we do apologize but our trip is on a boat. As far as no nibbles on your trip, you did repair your hook about 15 times with our free bait, so something was nibbling. You as the angler do need to hook your catch. Others around boat caught many Black Sea Bass. At the end of the day we provide the trip, the rod, reel, bait, tackle. We provide instruction. We do not hook fish for you or reel them up. We even clean your catch as part of our experience if you have a catch to clean. The responsibility of hooking fish is up to you. Also as far as our ass clown setup of no radar I would like to point a failed detail. Radar is used for locating objects above water. We have two radars on the Miss Chris by Furuno, a leader in Radar. Total price for this one piece of equipment and install for both is around $25,000. The radar is used on foggy days for seeing ships, buoys and land. It can also see birds which can aid in fishing. The only fish it would see would be a flying fish. Radar cannot see below water. Now, it is possible your are referring to SONAR. The Miss Chris is equipped with about $50,000 in sonar fish finding equipment. It allows us to pinpoint structure as small as a baseball on the ocean floor and is perfect at finding Black Sea Bass as well as fluke which were caught in your trip. I hope this clears up the difference between Radar and Sonar and allows you to move on to a difference company that you can critique on their ability to force your to hook a fish instead of feeding them. If you ever have time to come with us again, perhaps you will bring a healthy dose of patience which is definitely a requirement in fishing. Captain Jeff

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape May.

How much does Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May cost?

    +

Prices start at $60 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape May usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape May is not rushed.

Is Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape May, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape May can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape May and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half Day Fishing Experience in Cape May start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape May within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape May?

    +

When is the best time to visit Cape May?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Cape May, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape May?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
