What you get

    About this experience

“Countryside Jewel Tour" visits: King’s Palace, Thean Hou Temple, Batu Cave – (272 steps-stop) & Royal Selangor Pewter Factory. Hindu devotees each year come to celebrate Thaipusam by the thousands during the “Thaipusam Festival”. Proceed to Thean Hou Buddhist Temple and the Chinese Zodiac Park. We then visit the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory where it was established in 1885. The “Black Gold” which is “Tin Ore” was once the most sought after mineral during the early days. Its excellent craftsmanship from trophies to all sorts of souvenirs such as the “Money Tree,” Mugs, Tea-Pots etc. are now a great show piece in the homes of souvenir hunters.

An excellent tour with a great guide

An excellent tour and our guide Ganesh went above and beyond to make it a great experience. He was very knowledgeable and extremely hospitable in ensuring we had enough bottled water, took plenty of photos for us and even did an extra stop enroute

Response from the operator: Dear Respected Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Have a good day!

    Batu caves and waterfall tour

Michelle was very knowledgeable about Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia, providing us with an enjoyable and informative tour of the City. Ganesh was a very good driver and was with us throughout the tour. Be prepared to walk up many steps if going to Batu caves and the waterfall.

Response from the operator: Dear Respected Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Wish you have a wonderful stay in Malaysia!

Brilliant tour of Batu Caves, Royal Palace and Waterfalls with Michelle and Ganesh. Prompt collection in the morning and smooth logistics for the whole tour. Michelle shared lots of information, history and insights which made the experience even better. We got a good amount of time at each location and never felt rushed. Would very much recommend. Thank you!

    A day to remember.

We started the day with a trip to the Batu Caves. Our guide walked the whole way up the steps and into the caves. He was informative and helpful. The caves were an awesome experience. We then travelled 2 hours inland for an unforgettable trip to an Elephant Sanctuary. What a fantastic afternoon. We had a private guide who explained everything about the rescue and rehabilitation of the elephants. The day completed with a bathe in the river with the younger elephants. Simply unforgettable. Thank you Mr Ganesh. You made our day.

Response from the operator: Dear Respected Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Wish you have a wonderful stay in Malaysia!

Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuala Lumpur.

How much does Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour) cost?

    +

Prices start at $102 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuala Lumpur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour) take?

    +

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuala Lumpur is not rushed.

Is Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuala Lumpur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour)?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuala Lumpur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuala Lumpur and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half Day Countryside Jewel + Batu Caves (Private Guided Tour) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuala Lumpur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kuala Lumpur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sambal Streets Kuala Lumpur Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Genting Highland & Batu Cave Guided Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour), Private Half-Day Batu Caves and Cutural Tour in Kuala Lumpur. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuala Lumpur?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
