Stilwell Museum/Former Residence of General Stilwell (Shidiwei Jiangjun Jiuju)
General Joseph Stilwell Museum was founded in memory of Joseph W. Stilwell, an American general who contributed a great deal to the Chinese people. In 1942, during the Second World War, General Joseph W. Stilwell acted under orders to come to Chongqing. He worked as Chief of Staff in the China Theater of Operations and as the Commander-in-Chief of the American Army in the China Burma India Theater. The residence became the headquarters of the China Burma India Theater during that period. General Stilwell participated in a series of political and military affairs in the CBI Theatre of World WarⅡ, and cemented a profound friendship with the Chinese people fighting side-by-side in the Anti-Fascist War in China. In July 1944, campaigns in Northern Burma succeeded and a road between India and China was built under his direct supervision, which made ammunitions and weapons accessible to China and brought an end to the blockade of the fascist state. The road was later named Joseph W. Stilwell Road. President Roosevelt recalled General Stilwell to Washington in 1944. William Pace, a former American Secretary of Defense, made a special trip to the museum in 1994 and was greatly touched by how well it had been preserved.

Chongqing Luohan Temple
Arhat Temple's location is a bit of a surprise: wedged tightly between skyscrapers and apartment blocks. The thousand-year-old building is still a place of worship and home to 18 monks (although once upon a time, 70 monks were in residence here). The main draw is the impressive entrance to the temple decorated with hundreds of terra-cotta sculptures. This site is worthwhile even for the non-pious.

How much does Half Day Afternoon Private Tour: General Stilwell Museum, Arhat Temple, Panda cost?
+

Is Half Day Afternoon Private Tour: General Stilwell Museum, Arhat Temple, Panda worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (0/5 across 0 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chongqing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Afternoon Private Tour: General Stilwell Museum, Arhat Temple, Panda?
+

How far in advance should I book Half Day Afternoon Private Tour: General Stilwell Museum, Arhat Temple, Panda?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What are the best things to do in Chongqing?
+
On Outty we rank every Chongqing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chongqing Wulong National Park Private Tour, Premium Chongqing Private Tours: Highlights, Night View or Cruise, Chongqing 8D Mountain City Full Day Join In Tour. When is the best time to visit Chongqing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chongqing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
