What you'll see and do

1. After meeting your tour conductor, travel to Hakone. Arrive at Moto-Hakone Port, the gateway to your journey across the lake and the starting point for one of Hakone's most iconic sightseeing experiences. Board the Hakone Pirate Ship for a cruise across Lake Ashi. As you sail, enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and seasonal landscapes from the water. During autumn, the shores are painted with colorful foliage, creating a picturesque setting unique to the Hakone region. On clear days, you may also catch views of Mt. Fuji, although visibility depends on weather conditions. Autumn foliage is typically at its best from mid-November through late November. During the tour you will also receive a popular bento featuring rice balls prepared by a well-known railway bento maker Toukaken.

2. Arrive at Togendai, where your lake journey ends and your aerial adventure begins.

3. Hakone Ropeway

   Board the Hakone Ropeway and enjoy a scenic ride above Hakone's volcanic landscape. As the gondola glides across valleys and mountain slopes, you'll be treated to sweeping views of forests, lakes, and geothermal terrain. The elevated perspective offers one of the best ways to appreciate Hakone's autumn scenery. On clear days, Mt. Fuji may also be visible in the distance. Autumn foliage is typically at its best from mid-November through late November.

4. Owaku-dani Valley

   Arrive at Owakudani, Hakone's famous volcanic valley formed by an eruption approximately 3,000 years ago. Steam rises from vents scattered across the landscape, creating a dramatic environment unlike anywhere else in the region. During your free time, you can explore the area, enjoy the views, and experience one of Hakone's most recognizable natural attractions.

5. Hakone Ropeway

   Continue your journey aboard the Hakone Ropeway for the next section toward Sounzan.

6. Arrive at Sounzan, where you will transfer to the Hakone Tozan Cable Car.

7. Board the Hakone Tozan Cable Car, which climbs through the mountains on one of Hakone's most scenic routes. The changing elevation provides excellent views of the surrounding forests, particularly during autumn when the hillsides are covered in vibrant seasonal colors. Autumn foliage is typically at its best from mid-November through late November.

8. Arrive at Gora Station, concluding your rail journey through the mountains of Hakone.

9. Travel approximately 40 minutes to Suzuhiro Kamaboko Village. Known for its traditional Japanese fish cakes, this popular stop offers time to browse local products, regional specialties, and souvenirs. It is a pleasant opportunity to experience one of Kanagawa's well-known food traditions before returning to Tokyo.

• This tour is operated for both Japanese and foreign customers. A Japanese tour conductor will accompany the group and provide key information using a translation app. Please note that the tour conductor is not a tour guide and will focus on sharing essential information during the tour.
• Infant (0-2 years old) are free of charge with no arrangement
• Delays, shortenings or omissions made to the itinerary due to traffic, weather or other circumstances that are beyond the control of the tour operator are not subject to refund.
• Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be contacted 5 days prior to your travel date and offered an alternative or full refund.
• According to traffic conditions etc, the order of the itinerary may be changed and the bus arrival may be delayed
• During the autumn foliage viewing season, roads and sightseeing spots might become congested and arrival to each place might be delayed. In some cases, shortenings or omissions may occur due to congestion during this time
• The best time to view autumn leaves varies depending on the weather and temperature of the season. The tour schedule is based on the condition of the autumn leaves in the past years. However, there are some cases where you are not able to enjoy the scenery as in the photo. Please note there will be no refund regardless of the conditions of the autumn leaves. If the conditions of the autumn leaves are poor, visiting times may be shortened. Typical Peak Season: mid to late November.
• If the weather is not favorable, you might not be able to see Mt. Fuji.
• Please note that we are unable to accommodate special dietary requests, including food allergies. If you have specific dietary needs, we recommend making your own meal arrangements. No refunds will be provided for meals.
• Delays or non-participation due to public transportation delays will be subject to cancellation fees. The tour will depart at the scheduled time listed.
• The Hakone Pirate Ship, Hakone Ropeway, and Hakone Tozan Cable Car may be suspended due to weather conditions or other operational reasons. In such cases, alternative sightseeing arrangements will be made, or a refund equivalent to the affected service will be provided.
