    Nice but messy

Experience itself was okay but the pick up and arragements to get there were very messy. Landscape was incredibly beautiful, out guide Thai, was very nice and attentive to details. Touroperator company should pay much more attention to the pick up.

    Not worth 2 days

I went on the Ha Long Bay 1 night 2 day cruise. I personally don't think it's worth doing the 2days, a whole day is wasted and for travelers this is a big deal as we could be doing something else on that day. The second day lunch was served on the boat at 10.30am, to then get back to the harbour by 12, get the bus and be back in town around 4.30pm/5pm. A whole day wasted! All because they are using one bus, we had to wait for this one bus to pick up ppl who were starting the cruise when they got dropped off then we jumped on to that bus to start our commute back. and because the driver has been driving all these hours on our way back we had to stop for his lunch break / toilet break, they took a different route back (a longer way) to fit in another tourist trap stop in the massive souvenir shop - which made our trip back even longer. The beach we had stopped at in the morning of the second day was not a clear and nice beach to swim in, in my opinion. It was nice to see Ha Long Bay, but honestly 1 day will suffice, because you can't really swim in these waters !

    Great, but I can’t give 5 stars…

The Ha Long bay part is great! Excellent food and clean rooms. However, I have to lower the score a bit. This is mainly because two unnecessarily long toilet stops at tourist trap souvenir markets on both ways from/to Hanoi. Moreover, different, more bumpy and 1-2 hour longer way was selected when returning to Hanoi. I suspect it was mainly due to that unnecessary “toilet stop”….

    We recommend the tour

We booked the 2D1N and are absolutely satisfied. We chose this cruise because it was the cheapest in comparison and we were backpacking on a low budget. It was simply beautiful. The staff are so friendly and really admirable because they manage everything. We went to the stalactite cave, kayaked, had a sunset party (no sunset but cake and fruit with wine and lovely people was still really nice), climbed the view point, went swimming and had a short cooking class. Big praise to the organization, which made this possible within 24 hours. The food was very good and lots of it. The room was very nice and the bed was absolutely comfortable. We were very satisfied.

Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise cost?

    +

Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ha Long Bay 2D1N on 2-star-plus Cruise start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
