The narrow and spectacular Nærøyfjord is surrounded by steep valley sides and snow-covered peaks that rise 1,800 meters above sea level, with thundering waterfalls and picturesque villages along the fjord. Regardless of the season, a cruise on the Nærøyfjord will be an unforgettable experience. The vessels have been designed to maximize the tourist experience during any kind of weather, with large windows and walkways inspired by the winding trails of steep mountain terrain. Passengers are encouraged to go out on the top deck and enjoy a very different experience compared to traditional passenger vessels. Flam
Flåm is the most popular village around the Aurlandsfjord, and one of Norway’s most popular tourist destinations. The village has had a history of tourism dating back over 100 years, to when rich, British tourists would come to the fjords to fish salmon in the rivers here. Flåm is small, with around 400 inhabitants. The stop in Flåm varies because of the different cruise and train times during the year. In the winter time you only have 30 or 45 minutes of free time before the train leaves. In the summer you have 1-2 hours free time in flåm, because the train leaves at a later time.

The train runs from the end of Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the Sognefjord, up to the high mountains at Myrdal station. Over the course of one hour, the train takes you from sea level at the Sognefjord in Flåm to the Myrdal mountain station, situated at 867 meters above sea level. The Flåm Railway is one of the steepest standard gauge railway lines in the world, with 80% of the journey running on a gradient of 5.5%. The train runs through spectacular scenery, alongside the Rallar Road, vertiginous mountainsides, foaming waterfalls and through 20 tunnels. They really packed people...
They really packed people in on the boat ride, difficult to find a seat or move around freely. The windows were always fogged over so unable to enjoy view. Way over priced for what they claim was a great “scenic ride”

The fog on the windows emerge because of different temperatures and weather changes rapidly. Its the best cruise on the Nærøyfjord, and there is no other better cruise to choose than this. Wonderful Day in Southern Norway
It was an awesome day with our awesome guide! Very well paced and informative! Guide got us to every activity on schedule. Van was perfect size and not overcrowded. Highly recommend!

It seemed perfect except trip advisor did not include the meeting point address with our confirmation which made it difficult to find

Excellent
This was an excellent tour overall. Fjord drive tours did the tour. The vehicle (20 passengers) was clean, comfortable and well maintained with a professional, friendly driver (Gary) who spoke excellent English. As everyone arrived on time by 8:45 we were able to do some additional photo stops. The boat was 100%, as was the train (sit right facing forward) The Viking village is nice but touristy with many of the staff from other countries. This tour makes for a long day but is still an excellent tour. The driver leaves you after embarking the boat but this is fine as it easy to get on the next part of the jorney.

Great trip and great guide, very worthwhile.
This was a great, full day experience. Our guide, Selene, did a fabulous job giving information and answering lots of questions. Our driver, Tommy, also did a great job getting us everywhere safely and chipped in here and there with additional local knowledge. They even found time for an additional photo op of two at some wonderful vistas. It is a very long day but well worth it!!
