Despite explicit booking, not in GERMAN.
We had booked a tour in German with Viator for a lot of money. Unfortunately, the tour was in English after all. We were only informed of this in Pompeii at the entrance. Either we join this tour, or we get our money back and have to return to the hotel at our own expense... Pompeii was still very impressive. So was Mount Vesuvius. The transfers also went smoothly.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry that your tour was not provided in German. We were not aware that a German Gide was not available. We will be updating our offers to better reflect language availability in the future . We are very glad the transfers were easy and convenient.

Pompei was interesting but lack of information on Vesuvius was disappointing.
Train from Sorrento was okay as we managed to get seats and air- con came on after first stop. We found the Pompei tour meeting point easily and our guide was very good. The bus trip to Vesuvius was comfortable but unescorted and there was no sign of the promised guide when we got there so after waiting a while we set off without. The staff member manning the entry turnstile was incredibly impatient and rude to tourists that were not instantly presenting their tickets to the machine. The toilets were free but disgusting. Some souvenir and snack stalls at the top. Very few seats to rest on the route to the top. The path to top is loose grit so enclosed footwear is best. Took us 65 year olds about 30minutes. Lack of information boards. Return bus was on time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We will speak with our vendor about guides at the Vesuvius site.

Best tour guide
I have been to Pompeii 4 times. This was the best tour guide. So knowledgeable and funny and considerate of keeping us out of sun. I give him a 5 star plus. We loved the restored house

On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sorrento?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sorrento?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
