Loved it, great guide!
We really enjoyed this hike. Our guide, Rob, was so knowledgeable and shared such great info with us. He took the time to answer my son’s many questions. He also was attentive and allowed us to take breaks, as needed. Going with a guide gave us the peace of mind we needed for this adventure. Highly recommend this hike!
Response from the operator: Thanks so much for your kind words Dessa! Glad you had a great time with Rob. Kind regards, Nick

Platteklip hike
Me and my partner did the Platteklip hike and it was amazing. Altough we were unlucky with wheather, as it rained quite a bit when we were going through the gorge, we had a wonderful time. For an average hiker, the hike can seem easy, but it is fairly steep at some points. Our guide for that day was Rob, who gave so much more to the visit: history of the place, botanical insights, other mearby hikes, infos on local fauna and flora, as well as a strong feeling of safety all the way up. We did the travel down with the cable car. A very good experience! I highly advice Path and Peak if you want to explore Table Mountain. Thank you Nick and Rob!

Table Mountain Hike
What a fantastic day we had! The day started of misty and low cloud cover - but we then had the magical experience of walking above the clouds and seeing table mountain just sparkling and beautiful in the sunshine with the blanket of clouds beneath us. Nick took us up on the up Jeep track and first stop was DeVilliers reservoir - where some of the party took a dip before continuing onwards and upwards. Unfortunately one of our group wasn’t feeling well - so after consulting us all and considering the ease of the return route Nick ( ‘just follow the track’) felt it ok for me to return back to the car with my friend, and he was able to lead the rest of our group to the cable car. Although disappointed that we needed to go back down, given the walk up the Jeep track was in the mist - the walk back down was a truly memorable vision - Constantia to Muizenberg laid out before us like a rich green tapestry. Nick was a great guide, full of information, humour and professionalism. The whole group so enjoyed the day Thanks Nick.
Response from the operator: Thanks very much for your kind words, Kathryn. I'm really glad that you still managed to enjoy the experience and I'm happy that the "boys" made it to the summit, they were a laugh a minute :) Thank you for your continued support - it is beyond appreciated. I look forward to seeing you again next year. Safe travels and see you soon. Best, Nick

Excellent Table Mountain experience
Amazing experience and one of the highlights of our South Africa trip. Our guide Rob was excellent, super friendly and knowledgeable pointing our the interesting flora on the way up. I'd definitely recommend getting a guide for the hike, it added so much more to our time at Table Mountain, and would certainly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thanks very much for your review, Marc. It was a pleasure to host you and I'm glad you enjoyed the hike and Rob's guiding as much as you did! All the best, Nick

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Guided Table Mountain Hike: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Guided Table Mountain Hike cost?
+
Prices start at $1400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Guided Table Mountain Hike take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Guided Table Mountain Hike worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Guided Table Mountain Hike?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Guided Table Mountain Hike suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Guided Table Mountain Hike?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Guided Table Mountain Hike start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins Day Tour from Cape Town, Table Mountain, Boulders Penguins and Cape point Day Tour, Wine Tour: Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch incl 3 wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
