    Incredible group getaway!

Being a guy always up for thrills, the Paracas and Huacachina day trip was an absolute win. With German friends in tow, we craved water and adventure and this trip nailed it. From Lima, Paracas wowed us with the Ballestas Islands that blew our minds. Huacachina, an oasis ringed by towering dunes, amped up the adventure. Dune buggy rides were a riot, but sandboarding stole the show, we laughed like kids. Sunset over the desert was the perfect end, etching this escape into memory. If you're craving action away from Lima, trust me, this trip delivers.

What a day! Woke up crazy early for the Paracas and Huacachina trip, and boy, was it worth it. First stop, Ballestas Islands. The wildlife and those rock formations were unreal. Then, Huacachina blew our minds, an oasis surrounded by massive dunes. Did a dune buggy desert tour, and the adrenaline rush was off the charts. 100% recommend this unforgettable adventure!

    Great day trip from Lima

Embarking on the Paracas and Huacachina day trip was an absolute delight, and the early start proved to be entirely justified by the breathtaking experiences that followed. Setting off on a 3-hour journey, the anticipation grew as we approached our first destination, Paracas. The allure of the Ballestas Islands beckoned, and we were not to be disappointed. The moment we stepped onto the boat for the guided tour of the Ballestas Islands, a wave of excitement enveloped us. The islands' rugged beauty and the teeming wildlife that called them home left an indelible impression. The sea air was invigorating, and as we glided through the cerulean waters, we marveled at the diverse marine life and the intriguing rock formations that punctuated the coastline. Leaving the mesmerizing charm of Paracas behind, our journey continued to Huacachina, a place of sheer enchantment. The sight of this desert oasis, encircled by imposing sand dunes, was like stumbling upon a hidden gem. The sense of adventure deepened as we ventured into the heart of the desert aboard a robust 4WD vehicle. The exhilarating safari through the undulating dunes was a symphony of adrenaline and awe. Cresting the dunes provided sweeping vistas of the surrounding landscape, and the thrill of riding down their slopes was matched only by the golden hues of the sand at sunset. Our senses were in overdrive as we embraced the unique blend of serenity and excitement that only a place like Huacachina could offer. Reflecting on the day's escapades, it's evident that this day trip was an unforgettable fusion of natural marvels and heart-pounding adventure. From the captivating wildlife of the Ballestas Islands to the majestic sandscapes of Huacachina, every moment was a canvas of wonder and discovery. For anyone seeking an escape from the ordinary, I wholeheartedly endorse embarking on this journey, it's an expedition that promises memories to last a lifetime.

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lima and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lima?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lima?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
