Excellent City Tour

We were visiting Guayaquil and used Allyson to provide us with a city walking tour. Allyson has a passion for her city as demonstrated by her professional approach to the tour. We learned so much about Guayaquil from its history of independence to its city development as well as the Ecuadorian culture. Allyson guided us to all the interesting points in the city as well as tempted us with local foods along the way. There was no better way to understand Guayaquil and enjoy the culture than a city tour with Allyson.

Response from the operator: I'm so glad you liked the tour! Guayaquil is a city to be discovered, also it's interesting to know ot through food even if it's just a snack, a coffee or an ice cream. Everything has a meaning, or it's part of our traditions. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to show you my city!

A wonderful tour of Guayaquil

Allyson was a wonderful guide who showed us the highlights of her lovely city. She surprised us by taking us to a cocoa shop where we got to pick up some Ecuadorian chocolate. We enjoyed our morning with Allyson and highly recommend her.

Response from the operator: Thanks for giving us the opportunity to show you Guayaquil and the experiences this city offers

Awesome Guayaquil experience with Lilian Cedeño

Lilian was an awesome guide. She arrived on time, stayed long enough to cover everything we wanted to do and did not rush us. She walked with us to all the places on our list and had the cards for the Aerovia cable car to make it easy to purchase the tickets. She told us about which places were safe and kept us away from places that were not safe. She even took us to a great souvenir shop and helped us with the shopping. She went out of the way to recommend vegan restaurants we should try! She also told us of a safe walking route to go see the giant monkey statue (Estatua Del Mono Machín) within walking distance of the hotel but in the median of the Juan Javier Marcos y Aguirre road on the way to the airport. Every attraction on our list was a hit and worthy of the visit - the 444 steps through Las Penas neighborhood to El Faro, the lighthouse, the cable car ride from Malecon to Duran and back to Cathedral, the nearby Cathedral, the Iguana park on the way to the Municipal building and the plaza in front, the Art University all opposite the Malecon, the semicircle Rotonda monument and the 2 things we did on our own - the walk to the giant monkey statue (Estatua Del Mono Machín) and the evening walk along the Malecon near our Wyndham Santa Ana hotel. Remember to wear full sleeves and long pants to stay safe from the bugs near the river eager for human blood as you walk the Malecon in the evening or sit out to eat an eatery off Malecon.

Response from the operator: We are so glad you enjoyed our city with Liliana. She is a great tour guide, a hard-working mom, and importantly, she loves Ecuador as much as our team does. We work hard to bring the best memories. Liliana and the team send you a big hug and safe travels. Local Friend Tour Team

A great visit in Guayaquil with our private tour guide Allyson and driver, Javier.

Allyson was very knowledgeable about the area and she lives here. We especially loved riding the aerial cable car with her and seeing the city from above. Her English is great and very easy to understand. She also does other tours throughout Ecuador.

Response from the operator: We do the best to make you feel at home in our country. Thanks for your comments, it means a lot for our team!

Great overview of Guayaquil

Great tour of the city, very accommodating. Picked us up at our B&B on time and dropped us off right at the door. We were somewhat hesitant about coming to Ecuador, especially Guayaquil, after the news stories in January. We decided to come and risk it, but I will just say that at No Time did we ever feel unsafe in the slightest. Security/police everywhere, and the people were so kind and welcoming. Tourism is really down because of it, and that’s just a shame.

Response from the operator: It was a honor for our team to show you our beautiful city, thanks for being a great traveller. We hope you come back and discover more of the treasure that Ecuador is to the World.

Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $170 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Guayaquil city tour with a local - Private Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

+

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
