    I spent a wonderful day...

I spent a wonderful day with Nancy visiting the initial part of the Great Wall nad enjoyed every minute of it. The day started with a ride on a high speed train whitch is an experience by itself and then going to the fascinating Wall.

Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing our private day trip to Qinghuangdao for the Great Wall Origins! We’re thrilled you had a wonderful day and enjoyed every minute of exploring the initial section of the Great Wall with **Nancy**. We’re glad the high-speed train ride was a great experience in itself, and that you loved the fascinating ancient Great Wall site you visited. Your lovely feedback means a lot to us and Nancy. We look forward to welcoming you back for more unique Great Wall and Beijing adventures soon! Warm regards, Lily's Tours Beijing Team

    Outstanding tour

We wanted to see where the Great Wall meets the sea. This tour was a perfect day trip from Beijing. Our tour guide Maggie was friendly, fun, and very knowledgeable. Her English is very good, and she was an efficient timekeeper so we were able to see the Old Dragon’s Head, climb the Great Wall, and visit the shanhaiguan pass, and still make the high speed train back to Beijing. She took pictures for us and helped us order an excellent lunch at a local restaurant known for its dumplings which were made on the spot. We couldn’t have asked for more.

    Lot of money for nothing.

It was different, but takes to long to get there and back. NO time there to do everything the add says. The guide was very good at her job and fun. Had to take the regular train back, for some reason. Felt like I was cheated out of my money, by that. If you have money to throw away, and a whole day with nothing to do. Then take this trip.

Response from the operator: Dear Thomas, Thank you taking your valuable time to share your experience to us. We are very sorry to hear about it. The first, the tour was a big day tour. It took over 10 hours for this tour. The second, the bullet train tickets we bought for the way back was temporary changed to a regular train by the state. They told us it was only for Summer holiday 2 months. It never happened in the normal days. But also we won't buy this train anymore. It was a mistake. We also refund you for the bullet train problem. We will try our best to satisfy you for your next Beijing trip. Regards Lily

Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip cost?

    +

Prices start at $168 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Great Wall Origins: Beijing Bullet Train to Qinghuangdao Private Day Trip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
