Do NOT go with Reef Magic
The Great Barrier Reef is definitely beautiful and worth visiting, just not with Magic Reef. Our helicopter slot was repeatedly delayed, the reason being two separate companies. The afternoon glass-bottom boat and submarine coral tours got cancelled, blamed on weather. Naturally, no staff proactively notified us, and there was zero follow-up. On top of that, when I left feedback on their website, their reply didn’t just misspell my name; they put a completely different name.

All-inclusive Reef Adventure
Staff was so attentive: they watched us closely for any emergency when we were snorkeling, they talked our health issues through for security and took precautionary measures, the marine biologists among them provided us with fascinating information about the reef whenever possible, they offered enough vegan food options and they took personal care that our wishes were catered to. Once on the pontoon, the whole platform was like a station learning: first glassboat submarine with biologist, next glassboat ride with biologist, next snorkeling, next food, next information booth with biologist telling about corals, next underground pathway, next ... only a helicopter ride would actually cost extra. All the rest was included and overwhelmingly much. ;)

A Truly Wonderful and Memorable Reef Experience
We had such a wonderful and memorable day with Reef Magic. A very special thank you to Eylul for taking such thoughtful and attentive care of my daughter and me throughout the entire day. She arranged all of our activities so smoothly and made sure we were always well looked after. Because I was feeling seasick, I was unable to join some of the other activities, but with Eylul’s kind support and company, my daughter was still able to happily enjoy everything she wanted to do. This meant so much to me. I would also like to thank our snorkelling instructor, Miki — apologies if I have spelled her name incorrectly. She was extremely professional, cheerful and reassuring. As this was my first time snorkelling, I was initially quite nervous, but she made me feel completely safe and helped me adapt calmly and confidently. Thanks to her, my first snorkelling experience became truly enjoyable. Our original trip was scheduled for August 4, but the helicopter was unable to fly because of the weather, so the trip had to be moved to August 5. We feel incredibly lucky that we still had one available day in our itinerary and were able to rearrange everything at such short notice. The entire Reef Magic team was professional, responsive and proactive in helping us resolve the situation. They clearly explained the refund amount for the cancelled activities and the expected refund timeframe, which made the whole process much less stressful. It was a truly beautiful day and one of the highlights of our trip. We are very grateful to the whole team and hope to visit again in the future.

Great Barrier Adventure
Fantastic day. Friendly staff, very well organised. Also had the best special diet food i've ever had. Full marks for that. Most appreciated thank you. I snorkled, went on the glass bottom boat and the semi submersible. Just a shame the journey there and back take so long.
Response from the operator: hank you for your wonderful review, Jackie! We're delighted to hear you had a fantastic day on our Great Barrier Reef Indulgence experience. It's especially pleasing to know that our team was able to cater to your dietary requirements so well — we know how important this is for our guests, and your feedback will be greatly appreciated by our catering team. It sounds like you made the most of your day with snorkelling, the glass bottom boat and the semi-submersible tour, giving you plenty of different ways to experience the beauty of the reef. While travelling to the Outer Great Barrier Reef does require some time on the water, we are fortunate to access some of the closest outer reef sites from Cairns. During the journey, our crew presents informative talks on the reef's marine environment, cultural significance and conservation efforts to help guests make the most of their time onboard. For those looking for a faster transfer and a truly unforgettable perspective of the reef, helicopter transfers are also available, taking approximately 30 minutes from Cairns to the reef. Thank you for travelling with us and for taking the time to share your feedback. We hope to welcome you back for another indulgent reef adventure in the future! 🐠🌊💙🚁

Wonderful day trip to Great Barrier Reef
Convenient tour from Cairns for seeing the Great Barrier Reef . I found it a bit long , the activities could be planned better and they should include the option of shorter stay & transfer back to Cairns for people who don’t choose the snorkeling option. The glass bottom boat and semi submarine tour offered close views of the exquisite marine life & landscape. Lunch was ok. We had included the helicopter tour in our package which was astounding; the view of GBR from top was simply stunning. It was a bit crowded perhaps because of the December holidays . Worth it for exploring the Great Barrier Reef
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Great Barrier Reef and that the glass bottom boat, semi-submersible tour and especially the helicopter flight provided memorable views of this incredible natural wonder. Seeing the reef from above truly offers a unique perspective and we're delighted you found it stunning. We also appreciate your comments regarding the length of the day and activity scheduling. Our Indulgence experience is designed to provide guests with ample time to enjoy the reef and the wide range of activities available on the pontoon, however we understand that different guests have different preferences. We value feedback such as yours as it helps us continue to review and refine our guest experience. As you noted, holiday periods can be busier than usual, particularly during December, and we appreciate your understanding. Thank you for choosing to travel with us. We're delighted that you found the experience worthwhile and hope to welcome you back to the Great Barrier Reef again in the future. 🐠🌊💙🚁
