Very disappointing!
We got to Granville Island and attempted to get onto the app. The email that we had been sent had a letter wrong in the address so we weren't able to get the link to work. We eventually figured out the error and were able to get to the correct page. Then our code wouldn't work. We sent an email but after a few hours on the island we had to leave for a dinner reservation. We finally heard back about 5 hours after sending the email and apparently there was an issue between Trip Advisor and Destplore. The y offered us a full refund and said that we could try it again if we wanted. The next day we had a bit of time free so decided to try it again but this time we tried to log in before we left the hotel. The code was now working but it wanted us to log in to a site that we had never created an account with. We repeatedly tried to get the app to send us a "forgot password" link so we could try to log in but we never received an email. We had been looking forward to this and were really disappointed that it didn't work. I think we will stick to Escape Rooms or other scavenger hunts that are run by "real" people in real time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re very sorry for the frustration you had at Granville Island. The incorrect email link, code issue, and login problems were caused by an issue between Viator/Tripadvisor and Destplore at that time, and we completely understand how disappointing that was, especially during a short visit. Since then, we’ve fixed the redemption process and made it much easier to claim tickets from Viator/Tripadvisor, so players can now access their adventure smoothly without those extra steps. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helped us improve the experience for future players, and we’re sorry we let you down on your trip.

Best hunt ever
Very fun activity to do with friends! App was intuitive and smooth. We liked that it was super easy for us to connect our phones together via the app and the progress was synced across all devices. The clues were clever and various so we don't feel repetitive although there were over 20 challenges.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind review! We’re so happy to hear you had fun exploring with friends and enjoyed the adventure together. We designed Destplore to make group play easy and seamless, so it’s great to know the multi-device sync worked smoothly for your team. We also put a lot of care into creating varied and clever challenges, so we’re glad the puzzles stayed fresh and engaging throughout the experience. Hope to see you on another adventure soon!

We were in Vancouver...
We were in Vancouver ahead of a cruise and decided to check out this outdoor Escape Rooms. We are so glad we did. We played both of their games in Granville Island and Gastown. We have completed many escape rooms across the country, but this was our first experience with outdoor escape games. It added an entertaining layer we were not expecting. The puzzles were clever, challenging, and flowed naturally from one to the next.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! We’re so glad you decided to try our outdoor escape games before your cruise and that both Granville Island and Gastown made the experience memorable. It means a lot to hear that even as experienced escape room players, you found the puzzles clever and the outdoor format fun and refreshing!

Great light activity
We did it right before the holidays and it was a perfect light activity. The pacing let us enjoy the scenery and take breaks without pressure. The puzzles were clever but not exhausting. It left us in a great mood for the rest of the day 😊
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this lovely review! 😊

Had fun with friends
A fun thing to do with friends! It's also a nice way to see the island in a different way. I've been here several times but only this time I've learned so much about the island and got to see some hidden gems. It was a bit rainy but wasn't a big deal for us. It took us about 1h45m to solve all challenges. Some are easy but some are tough.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this lovely review! 😊

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vancouver.
How much does Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vancouver usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vancouver is not rushed.
Is Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vancouver, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vancouver can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vancouver and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vancouver within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vancouver?
+
On Outty we rank every Vancouver experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Grand Bicycle Tour of Vancouver, The Stanley Park Bicycle Tour, Vancouver City Sightseeing Tour: Capilano Suspension Bridge & Vancouver Lookout. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vancouver?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vancouver?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure?
+
Included: The cost of adventure on Destplore app. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Where is the meeting point for Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure?
+
The game starts at Granville Island Brewing. All you need is Destplore app on your phone to play. You can play anytime. Hotel pickup is not included, so plan your own transport and arrive 15 minutes early.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
What happens to Granville Island The Captain’s Puzzle Path Adventure if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Vancouver. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
