    LA from the air

Bring your camera, the views are spectacular! Peter was an excellent guild! He pointed out the beautiful homes of the stars!

Great tour of LA - Highly Recommended

This was amazing - completely exceeded expectations! I booked a Grand Tour (65 mins) to surprise my husband for his birthday. He loved it - we both did. The ride was smooth and with just the two of us and the pilot (Peter), we had incredible views and could ask Peter to circle back to see things again. We saw the fire damage along the Malibu coast and the incredible and heart-breaking damage from the Palisades fire. We also went over downtown LA, Dodger Stadium, Griffith Observatory, the Hollywood Sign and the Greek Theater. Peter was very knowledgeable, pointing out celebrity homes as we went over Encino, Bel-Air, Beverly Hills, and West Hollywod. I could not say enough good things about this trip. Highly recommended!

    An Extraordinary Helicopter Tour

We took our grandson for what turned out to be a spectacular tour giving us all an entirely new perspective on our home town, Los Angeles. On a very clear day, we soared over the vast San Fernando Valley after take off from easily accessible Van Nuys Airport, heading north and then west with magnificent views of the Chatsworth Rocks, the Valley's last citrus orchard and the well hidden lakes scattered across the west Valley. Flying over the Santa Monica Mountains to the coast just north of Point Dume, we viewed in the distance Santa Catalina and San Clemente islands to the south, Santa Barbara Island to the west, and Anacapa and Santa Cruz Island and Channel Islands National Park to the northwest. We then proceeded down the coast past the Malibu beaches as far as Marina Del Rey and then moved inland. Heading towards Downtown over Santa Monica, Bel Air, Westwood, the mansions of Beverly Hills and Hollywood's Sunset Strip, we circled the Downtown spires and City Hall, and then flew north for a bird's eye view of Dodger Stadium under off-season construction and the L.A. River . From there, we flew over massive Griffith Park, the Observatory and the Hollywood sign. And then back over the canyons and freeways to Van Nuys Airport. It was even better than we imagined, and Claudia in the office and Peter the pilot are a wonderful team, very easy to work with, and everything was exactly as advertised. We all gave them a 5-star rating. Worth every nickel.

Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Los Angeles.

How much does Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Los Angeles usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1.1 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Los Angeles is not rushed.

Is Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Los Angeles, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Los Angeles can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Los Angeles and add a light layer if any part of the 1.1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Grand Los Angeles 65-Minute Helicopter Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Los Angeles within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Los Angeles?

    +

Los Angeles rewards travellers who cluster their bookings by geography rather than by theme. Studio tours and Hollywood walks sit inland, the Malibu and Santa Monica coast runs west, and Griffith Observatory and the canyon hikes work best at dawn or dusk. We weight transport clarity in the ranking here: whether pickup is included changes an LA day more than the tour itself. On Outty we rank every Los Angeles experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hollywood Sign 2.5-Hour Tour with Comedians and Their Dogs, Los Angeles Hollywood Sign Hike: Front, Behind, and Expert Guide, Los Angeles Original 90-Minute Walking Tour to The Hollywood Sign. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Los Angeles?

    +

March to May and September to November, for clear air and open canyon roads. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Los Angeles?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
