Nice trip to the west rim

Excellent trip to the west rim overall. Its not perfect, but it was still a good day. Hotel pickup was ok once you figured out where you were supposed to meet the van at the Wynn South gate. No signs to point you in the right direction when you come out. When you arrive at the airport, a helpful staff checks you in for the flight and you have about 30 minutes to relax and wait. The flight to the west rim was good on the twin engine overhead wing plane and the windows were big enough for the people in the center seat to see good. At the west rim, we go to the small terminal snd check in for the helicopter ride down to the bottom of the river. After watching a safety video, we waited for about 25 min before boarding a Helicopter. The short flight down to the river was fine. The hike from the helicopter down to the boat was a good ways down. The short boat ride was very smooth and scenic. After the boat ride, it was quite a climb back up to the helicopter landing area where we waited for our flight back up. At the airport we boarded a shuttle to Eagle Point. The skywalk was neat, but easy to spend too much time. Took the bus to Guano point and hiked out to the lookout points. Showed the cashier my arm band and got a very good hot lunch. I ran out of time and had to hurry to catch the bus from there in order to get back to the airport for the flight back. Really needed another hour before the flight back. The flight back and the shuttle back to the hotel was good.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the detailed review! We’re delighted you enjoyed experiencing the Grand Canyon from the airplane, helicopter, boat, and incredible West Rim viewpoints. It’s wonderful to hear our team was helpful and that the scenery, smooth flights, and lunch made for such a memorable day. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for another adventure!

    Incredible Experience

Absolutely incredible experience we have had. Seeing the canyon from the air provided breathtaking views, and the helicopter descent followed by the boat ride offered unique prospective from below. Everything was well organized and skywalk added extra thrill. Truly once in a lifetime experience.

    Nice trip, terrible travel

Grand Canyon was great. Experience was mostly great. But logistics were a bit of a nightmare. I booked our Viator tickets for "Start time: 07:29, Meeting point: Caesars Palace", where we were staying. See photos of my confirmation ticket. I reached out the night before to the tour company to ask what exactly we're looking for at 7:29am, and they said they do pickup from Caesars, and that we'd have to meet at a different hotel at 5:55am. We then had to cancel our plans the night before to get up at 5am to go to the actual pickup place. At the end of the tour, the tour company messed up the passengers list so our flight couldn't take off for half an hour until they sorted it. And then the last shuttle that took us back to our hotel was cancelled, so we waited a literal hour for the next bus.

Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Las Vegas.

How much does Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk cost?

    +

Prices start at $624 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Las Vegas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Las Vegas is not rushed.

Is Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 247 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Las Vegas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk?

    +

Around 86 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Las Vegas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Las Vegas and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Grand Canyon West Plane, Helicopter, Boat with Optional Skywalk start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Las Vegas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Las Vegas?

    +

Las Vegas sells two trips at once: the Strip after dark, and the red-rock desert that starts twenty minutes past the last casino. Helicopter runs to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam half-days and Red Rock Canyon drives all leave early, while show tickets, speakeasy crawls and high-roller dining fill the evening. Outty Ranking weighs operator reliability heavily here, because the gap between a well-run desert tour and a coach-and-queue version is enormous. On Outty we rank every Las Vegas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group: Valley of Fire Half Day Tour from Las Vegas, Small Group Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, 7 Magic Mountains VIP Tour, Grand Canyon West, Hoover Dam Stop, Breakfast, Lunch & Skywalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Las Vegas?

    +

October to April. Summer highs above 105F make midday outdoor tours punishing. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Las Vegas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
