    Worth the money.

Communication with end operator was excellent when they would answer, but never got a confirmation email like I was told that I would. Was picked up a few minutes late. Worked out. Airplane was a late model Caravan in good condition. Pilot was safe and adhered to regulations. Ground transport at the canyon was excellent. Loved the guide. Lunch was fresh sandwiches, water, and chips. Great views, ample time to see them.

    Fantastic experience!

Just 1 word: fantastic! Would do it again, and if I had a bit more spending money I would also opt for the river and helicopter experience. But the flight, the scenery, everything was just amazing! Personnel, ie the pilots and ground personnel were very friendly and knowledgeable, felt very safe at any moment. It was very hot the day we went, so be prepared clothing-wise as well as wear appropriate gear for walking around and bring enough water. They are small restaurants where you can get drinks and food.

    Another amazing experience

Flew with this airline over the canyon back in 2004 and now again in 2024 this time with our older teens and we all LOVED the experience! Thankfully we had a relatively smooth flight (I remember our first being lumpy lol) but both ways were pleasant. The headphones with light music and commentary (in different languages too) help ease the hour away, but the views are just amazing! Felt totally safe and happy. highly recommend to visit (in my opinion) the best views from South Rim @ Grand Canyon National Park but also to see everything along the way as you fly over so many parts. it was cool to see the light change on the way home as sun starting to set. You see blues/greys/oranges and reds. No photos can ever do the sights your eyes see justice. we team the flight with a hummer tour, lunch and transportation from Vegas to Boulder City Airport all booker via Papillon - 5star - recommend the full day tour.

    TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY

Absolutely awful experience!!! We found part way through our tour that an electrical fault would not allow us to land in the Grand Canyon and get what we were most excited to do! The customer service could not help us at all with a refund that would satisfy our disappointment for not stopping and seeing the Grand Canyon. We had paid for an experience to land and celebrate with photos and champagne on the ground and we got none of it! Stay away and avoid the risk of utmost disappointment!

Response from the operator: We are sorry that you had a bad experience with us. We would like to look into the matter further. If you could email us your reservation number and full name to guestrelations@grandcanyonscenicairlines.com, we would appreciate it.

    Breathtaking day out

Our time was brought forward to a 6.00am start rather than 11.00am. In hindsight, great move as it reached 120oc that day. Shuttle Pick up from hostel was on time and great. Checkin at boulder city airport, easy. Eric, our pilot from BC to GC was great, super flight both there and back and seeing the Hoover dam, Mojave desert and gran canyon, awesome. At BC airport we was met by a young fella, who showed us a safety video. Then we sat there for 50minutes with no communication as to when we go in the helicopter. Eventually we climbed on the helicopter and flew down to the canyon floor. Our pilot (Dave) was awesome, really knowledgeable and friendly. We then jumped on the boat where Jay, the skipper took the us up the Colorado river, nice guy informative and fun. At the end he did slow 360 of the river so we could video, nice touch. Back on the helicopter to BC where the young fella met us. He drove us to the skywalk, we had VIP tickets which took us to the front of the queue. However, due to sitting around for 50mins we didn’t have time to do the skywalk as we wanted to get to Guano point as well. All in all, super trip $1000 (US) well spent. Only negative was the young fella attitude and the sitting about which cost us the skywalk!!

Response from the operator: We are delighted you had a great excursion with us! Thank you for your support!

Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Las Vegas.

How much does Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas cost?

    +

Prices start at $654 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Las Vegas usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas take?

    +

Plan for about 9.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Las Vegas is not rushed.

Is Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Las Vegas, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Las Vegas can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Las Vegas and add a light layer if any part of the 9.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Grand Canyon South Rim Air and Ground Tour from Las Vegas start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Las Vegas within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Las Vegas?

    +

Las Vegas sells two trips at once: the Strip after dark, and the red-rock desert that starts twenty minutes past the last casino. Helicopter runs to the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam half-days and Red Rock Canyon drives all leave early, while show tickets, speakeasy crawls and high-roller dining fill the evening. Outty Ranking weighs operator reliability heavily here, because the gap between a well-run desert tour and a coach-and-queue version is enormous. On Outty we rank every Las Vegas experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group: Valley of Fire Half Day Tour from Las Vegas, Small Group Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, 7 Magic Mountains VIP Tour, Grand Canyon West, Hoover Dam Stop, Breakfast, Lunch & Skywalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Las Vegas?

    +

October to April. Summer highs above 105F make midday outdoor tours punishing. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Las Vegas?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
