I’m inviting you to spend a really sensational day. Probably one of the most beautiful you'll have in Provence. I'll take you to one of my favorite spots in Gorges du Verdon where I go with my family and friends. The best way to explore this unic place is to have a boat ride in the canyon, the biggest in all Europe. You'll drive your little private electric boat having a picnic with some local wines. You can jump to the water or just unwind admiring the nature (2 hours easy drive, very calm water). Then we'll stop on few lavender fields off the beaten path. If you have a chance, you'll be the only one strolling there and taking pictures. Their beauty is really indescribable, even after the blooming period! The next stop is the perched UNESCO village Sainte-Croix with its incredible view of the Sainte Croix lake. Free time for strolling or beach time by the lake. *In case of bad weather, instead of the boat, I'll drive you to the charming Moustiers-Sainte-Marie village.

Highly recommend this tour
My niece and I had a wonderful day with Tom in Marseilles and we recommend his tour highly. Tom was charming, funny and gave us just the right amount of information about the region. We laughed a lot. We had a delightful picnic on our private electric boat in the canyon. Tom was a terrific guide and we had a really fun day!

Great Customer Service
Tom was great to work with and an excellent communicator. We were looking forward to this amazing outing. By the reviews and ratings, it sounded spectacular, especially in the heat. Unfortunately, we had to cancel but we spoke by phone and had a very pleasant chat while he walked me through the process. We appreciate his flexibility and excellent customer service.

Incredible!
This tour is absolutely incredible! We booked this while on our honeymoon in Provence and had the best time! Very easy meeting place to start, and lots of fantastic views during our tour of beautiful lavender and poppy fields. We got to operate our own electric boat with a picnic on the gorge and absolutely LOVED our visit to Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, which included time to explore and relax on the beach! Highly recommend booking this tour if it’s available!!
Response from the operator: Merci beaucoup guys !! Take care and come back with your children ! :)

Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Aix-en-Provence.
How much does Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages cost?
+
Prices start at $1,427 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Aix-en-Provence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Aix-en-Provence is not rushed.
Is Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Aix-en-Provence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Aix-en-Provence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Aix-en-Provence and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Gorges du Verdon : Lavenders, Canyon Boat Picnic & Villages start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Aix-en-Provence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Aix-en-Provence?
+
On Outty we rank every Aix-en-Provence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include An Aix-traordinary Walking City Tour of Aix-en-Provence, Cotes de Provence Wine Tour from Aix-en-Provence, Luberon Villages Half-Day Tour from Aix-en-Provence. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Aix-en-Provence?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Aix-en-Provence?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
