India Golden Triangle & Udaipur Trip Review – 11 Days with Padman Holidays
We recently completed an 11-day trip to India covering the Golden Triangle (Delhi, Agra and Jaipur) along with Udaipur, booked through Padman Holidays. Overall, it was a fantastic family experience filled with incredible sights, rich history and memorable moments, though there are a few lessons worth sharing for anyone planning a similar trip. Our journey began in Delhi where we stayed at the JW Marriott Aerocity. This is genuinely a five-star hotel — excellent facilities, great restaurants and a very convenient location close to the airport. After a long flight, it was the perfect place to start the trip. For the first leg of the journey (Delhi–Agra–Jaipur), we had a driver called Vijay who was outstanding. He quickly felt like part of the family — always punctual, extremely safe on the roads (which is essential in India), and constantly looking after us with water and essentials during long drives. We always felt comfortable and safe with him, and he made that portion of the trip seamless. One important piece of advice: when booking hotels through a travel agent in India, do your own research and be very specific about standards. We requested five-star hotels, but the quality varied significantly. The JW Marriott was exceptional, while other hotels labelled as five-star were noticeably below that standard. For example, the Courtyard Marriott in Agra was perfectly acceptable but felt closer to a 3-star experience rather than true luxury. Sticking with established international hotel brands can help maintain consistency. Unfortunately, our biggest hotel disappointment was in Udaipur at **Zana Lake Resort**. It was advertised as a five-star property, but in reality it was far below the expected standard in terms of rooms, service and overall quality. It was honestly one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. I would strongly recommend avoiding Zana Lake Resort unless significant improvements have been made. More broadly, I would advise being extremely cautious with independent “five-star” lake properties unless they are part of a recognised luxury brand. Ironically, Udaipur itself was one of our favourite cities on the trip — beautiful, relaxed and culturally rich — yet it’s where we experienced our weakest accommodation and least satisfactory driver. That said, the guide we had in Udaipur was phenomenal. Extremely knowledgeable, engaging with the whole family and brilliant at explaining the history and context of what we were seeing. He truly elevated our experience in the city. While staying in Jaipur, we also did a day trip to Pushkar — roughly a three-hour round trip. Unless you have a strong religious or spiritual interest, I personally wouldn’t prioritise it on a relatively short itinerary. It’s quite a long drive mainly to visit a temple and experience the spiritual ceremonies before heading straight back. With limited time, there are probably better ways to spend a day. Guides across the rest of the trip were mixed. Some were excellent — engaging, knowledgeable, great with our children, and able to bring history to life. Others unfortunately seemed less enthusiastic and simply going through the motions. It’s worth asking your agent detailed questions about guides beforehand if possible. When we flew from Jaipur to Udaipur, we were assigned a new driver. Unfortunately, he was late picking us up at the airport and the experience wasn’t comparable to earlier drivers. After raising this with the agent, they handled it very efficiently and arranged a replacement quickly. This highlighted how important it is to ask upfront about driver experience, English proficiency and reliability. Despite a few hiccups with certain guides, one driver and the disappointing stay at Zana Lake Resort, we had an amazing trip overall. Padman Holidays were very strong during the planning stage and extremely responsive once we were in India. Communication was excellent, and they were flexible when we wanted to adjust excursions or tweak the itinerary while travelling. My biggest advice for anyone planning this type of trip: * Build in rest days — travel between cities can be long and tiring. * Be very specific about hotel expectations and research independently. * Stick with reputable international hotel brands where possible. * Ask detailed questions about drivers and guides before travelling. * Stay flexible — sometimes the best experiences come from adjusting plans on the ground. India is vibrant, intense and unforgettable. My wife, children and I truly loved the experience, and despite a few areas for improvement, I would absolutely recommend both the Golden Triangle plus Udaipur itinerary and booking with Padman Holidays — just go in well-prepared to get the most out of it.

5 star tour to the Golden Triangle
I Will start the review talking about Anubhav travel manager at Padma Holidays . When I starter booking I had a lot of doubts but he was patient, helpful, resourceful and took the time that was necessary for me to make up my mind. As soon as I decided he planned the trip according to my wishes in a very quick and efficient way… about the tour per se…… I had a wonderful time. It was great! The last guide in Agra, Balvir, was exceptional: explained everything, calling my attention to details, took great pictures! And finally the driver was the best: well educated, helpful, nice, all the best qualities… I enjoyed the hotel ( excellent hotels), the food ( they took me to excellent restaurants) , and the attractions ! For sure a 5 star rating service!!!! I would recommend for sure!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.
How much does Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour cost?
+
Prices start at $148 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour take?
+
Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.
Is Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Golden Triangle with Luxury Car tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Delhi?
+
On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Delhi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Delhi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
