We booked the tour in February 2026. Everything was well organized, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking at every stop. What really made the tour special was Matt. He is very thoughtful and helpful, always making sure everyone is comfortable and enjoying the experience. His knowledge and friendly attitude added a personal touch that made the day even more memorable. I would highly recommend CarBuddy to anyone looking for a relaxed and enjoyable way to explore.

Golden Circle Done Right
This trip was one of the highlights of my Iceland visit - from the dramatic geysers to the peaceful grandeur of Faxi and the striking colours around Kerid Crater, everything felt well-paced and memorable. Our guide knew the stories behind each stop and made it easy to take in the beauty without feeling rushed. If you want a deep dive into Iceland’s iconic landscapes in a single day, this delivers beautifully.

I’m really happy to hear the Golden Circle was one of the highlights of your Iceland trip, and that the day felt well-paced and memorable. It’s exactly what we aim for - sharing the stories behind each stop, while keeping the experience relaxed. Thank you again for choosing us, and you will always be welcome back in Iceland.

A fantastic experience with a great tour operator.
Mathew, the owner/operator, who also is an incredible guide, was tremendous. From booking to delivery as well the follow-up of the Golden Circle experience was simply fantastic! CarBuddy, he and his girlfriend's growing company, delivered a grand experience. My wife and I have traveled the world, literally, and have toured with numerous companies associated with virtually every service -- CarBuddy is right up at the top. Matt was responsive to our communications and flexible in his delivery. Service to his customers is the highest priority. No detail is missed from fine pictures to follow -through after the complete day of great site-seeing around the Golden Circle. Matt even arranged very early morning transport for us to the airport. We could not more highly recommend a tour operator! HB+T
Response from the operator: Thank you both so much for such a generous and thoughtful review. It truly means a lot – not just to me, but to both of us. We put a lot of heart into what we do, and hearing that it resonated with you makes it all worth it. I also really appreciated how open and encouraging you were during our conversations – I genuinely felt heard and valued, especially when talking about our ideas and the kind of experience we’re trying to create. For us, it’s always about more than just a service – it’s about being a friend on the road. It was a real pleasure spending the day with you on the Golden Circle and helping with the early transfer too. Wishing you all the best in your future travels – and thank you again for the trust and warmth.

Response from the operator: Reading this brought a big smile to our whole team – thank you! We always aim to make our transfers and tours feel more like road trips with friends than just a service. Wishing you many more amazing travel memories ahead!

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater cost?
+
Prices start at $1437 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Golden Circle Private Tour with Kerid Crater start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
