This day tour with a German-speaking tour guide in a small group with a maximum of 19 participants is the ideal shore excursion for cruise ship passengers and leads from Reykjavík on the so-called Golden Circle over the Hellisheiði plateau to Hveragerði, where we stop at an earthquake fissure in a shopping center, the Haukadalur geothermal area with the active Strokkur geyser, and the impressive Gullfoss waterfall. On the way we stop at a farm that makes very good ice cream from the milk of its own cows. After a short stop at the warm lake Laugarvatn we reach Þingvellir National Park, where you can experience Icelandic history and plate tectonics. On the way back we make a short detour through downtown Reykjavík. The departure time and tour duration is suitable for most cruise ships in the port of Reykjavík, such as Aida, MSC.Mein Schiff and Costa.

    An absolutely recommendable excursion

We had booked a full-day tour through Kria-Tours and got the best tour guide with Petra. It was an incredibly beautiful day with great experiences and gigantic impressions of Reykjavik and the Golden Circle. Petra also conveyed extensive knowledge about the country and its people to us. An all-around successful excursion! We will choose Kria-Tours again for our next visit to Iceland.

A great first impression of Iceland

Very nice contact in advance, everything in German. We were picked up on time and brought back in good time. Our tour guide Kirala provided us with a lot of information that also concerns life and the people in Iceland. In consultation with the participants, the route was adjusted slightly, a stop for ice cream was canceled, but in return we were able to get to know the city of Reykjavik itself. The tour was well worth the money.

Great day trip - well organized, very friendly, and very informative

Everything worked out very well and was well organized. We were picked up on time at the cruise terminal and it was also very easy to navigate there. Our German-speaking tour guide Sylvain was a native German speaker, which was very valuable because you could really understand everything very well; she also talked in great detail about the country and its people during the drive and answered all questions. Of course, the tour was tightly scheduled; if you want to see as much as possible in one day, you simply don't have much time per stop, but I always found the time per stop to be sufficient. Sylvain had cupcakes and homemade Icelandic bread with her and bought horse feed for the Icelandic horses so that the children could feed the horses. It was a great day and a very good opportunity to get an insight into the country.

How much does Golden Circle German-speaking small group tour from Reykjavík cost?

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 132 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 46 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
