5 Stars – Excellent Tour with Alejandro in Bogotá

We had a fantastic tour with Alejandro, visiting the Museo del Oro and Monserrate in Bogotá. Alejandro was both knowledgeable and spirited — his energy and passion for Colombian history made the experience truly memorable. His deep understanding of the artifacts and stories in the Museo del Oro brought the exhibits to life in a way that was both enriching and engaging. At Monserrate, he balanced insightful commentary with just the right touch of humor and charm. Highly recommend Alejandro as a guide — he made our visit both educational and fun!

Response from the operator: Dear Bryce_L, Thank you for sharing, we are glad to know it has been such a memorable moment due to guide´s professionalism and charm. We would love to have you back soon. Sincerely, Camilo Uribe Medellin City Services SAS

Beautiful church. Guide’s English needs improvement

The church is very impressive and the views spectacular. Our guide’s English was weak and while driving the guide and the driver were in near continuous conversation in Spanish. Normally on tours like this guide would be giving us background on areas we were passing through or on the stop ahead.

Response from the operator: Dear James_K, Thank you for the feedback, we are sorry to hear what happened and apologize for it was last minute booking during peak season and not many top guides available. We continue to work for this not to happen again in the future. Should you like to take the tour again at no cost please just let us know. Look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Camilo Uribe Medellin City Services®

High blow

It was not a satisfying experience from the first moment, because the height is a lot compared to Santiago (Chile), so it hits hard. If you can take precautions, do so (drink coke tea, or visit a place with height a few weeks before). In addition, the first days you have to walk lens to acclimate (go more than a week). The weather is nice, although the traffic (quiet) is horrible, although avoidable. There is a lot of street dwellers who ask for money (older people, adults and children), so they will be faced with this situation on a recurring basis. Unfortunately, there are not many vegan options. And even, it happened to me in three places, there is a confusion between vegan and vegetarian, because they use the concept “veggie” for both. People in general are VERY attentive and willing to help.

Atentamente, Camilo Uribe Medellin City Services®

Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.

How much does Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport cost?

+

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.

Is Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Gold Museum and Monserrate Private Half-Day Tour with transport start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bogotá?

+

On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria., Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Viejo Bogota Food Tour with 12+ Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bogotá?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bogotá?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
