    About this experience

Begin your day at your hotel in Budapest and enjoy a scenic, private drive to the charming town of Gödöllő for a visit and tour. Gödöllő is the site of the European Union Rotating Presidency Meetings of 2012, and the site of the spectacular, Baroque-style Royal Palace of Gödöllő, which formerly served as the summer residence of Queen Elisabeth. While you are exploring the beautiful palace, take a journey in the history of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and their connection to the beautiful palace, a favorite of Franz Joseph and the royal family, as well as of Empress Elisabeth (Sissi), who especially loved staying in Gödöllő. After wandering from room to room and getting to know the life and times of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, take a walk through the beautiful Palace Park, and enjoy a cup of coffee and piece of cake at the Confectionery of the Palace.

    Great privat tour to Gödöllö

100% value of money. Our quide Gabriel picked us up from the hotel. Instead of having big turist group the quide was there only for me and my wife. On the way to Gödöllö he prepared us to the visit with important details of Hungarian history. At the place we by-passed the que and enjoyed detailed stories about history in the palace. So many details in the rooms that he brought up. I can 100% recommended this tour to everybody.

Response from the operator: So nice to read! 😀 Thank you! We had chance to see Sissi for a moment, also skip the line on this busy Easter day! Thank you for your choice of this uniqe experience! Next time , next ideas toyour time wisely! 😀

    Lovely tour guide with...

Lovely tour guide with great knowledge. A genuinely nice person with extensive knowledge. Felt a little rushed as Viator took a late booking and didn’t inform the guide until an hour prior.

Fascinating look at Empress Elisabeth's (Sisi's) life

This is one of Sisi's favorite retreats, and we were regaled with her history throughout. The grounds of the palace are lovely. The palace itself is described as baroque, but much of the baroqueness was stripped away during the Soviet occupancy. There's plenty left to make it a worthwhile and enjoyable tour!

Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.

How much does Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board cost?

    +

Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.

Is Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Gödöllö Royal Palace Privately with full board start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Budapest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Budapest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Budapest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
