Gnarly Nags Head Scavenger Hunt

Scam and totally a YouTube or tik tok take

It was horrible and misleading. I think it is a scam. They are not from our country. The starting point Blue Moon said about once or twice a year people ask and they say they have no idea who they are and are not a part of this. The visitors center has no idea who they are and do not support nor advocate fi them. Other reputable resources in the area believe they are a scam and do not recommend them. I want my money back but so far no response. Do not do!!!!

Glad We Tried It Once

I’ve seen these before and have been curious, so when I saw one in the outer banks where we were vacationing for spring break, I booked it. TBH, it was a bit different than I had expected. It took me a few minutes to understand the format once the document was shared. And I was kind of disappointed by what appears to be automated responses once we submitted any videos or photos. In the end, it didn’t really seem to matter how much we actually completed - so we kind of lost interest in the last 15-30 mins or so. It was cool to have done it once, but we probably wouldn’t do one again. Although, maybe it’s a bit better in a city where things may not be so spread out and you can really walk from spot to spot?

Just wasn’t what I expected. My wife and I just walked and drove around seeing things. On a positive note we did learn a little history.

Not what I expected

I was under the impression that it was more of a “game”. More of a search. Work off of clues. Get to the next round. Kinda game. So it was a bit disappointing when that wasn’t the case. Trying not to ruin the surprise and say what it really was. I’d probably call it something else instead of a scavenger hunt. Maybe memory makers. The amount of money this costs. It definitely wasn’t worth it. I now know in the future not to sign up for these types of games. At least maybe not in this area. It would be nice to actually have some type of reward at the end too. Doesn’t have to be costly or big. Something for the team winner.

Nightmare!

NIGHTMARE!! There were 19 family members from little guys to adults who we all were looking forward to this adventure only to find out that Internet access was not available in that area in Nags Head, NC. Viator and the company offering this excursion would not provide a refund. Getting 19 people together to drive approximately 3 miles away to a closed Restaurant in 97* heat.Thankfully the manager answered my banging on the door & gave me access to the restaurant's Wi-Fi confirming the Internet was horrible in that area which allowed me to call both Viator and iPaul the contact for this Internet scavenger hunt. I sent text messages thatwe were unable to play due to the circumstances. All the adults have excellent working phones, but how we play a game when there was no access and how could we not be refunded when we were totally unable to enjoy the event due to circumstances beyond our control. Viator offered $278.20 credit which we have no plans to go on vacation in the next six months so that did not work for me and I felt absolutely disappointed because I always use Viator because when things don't work out like this, Viator works with the provider to reconcile the situation satisfactorily.
