The Corinth Canal conects the Saronic with the Corinthian Gulf in the Aegean Sea. A dream of the ancients, that came true in 1893. Time for rest and some amazing photos above the Corinth Canal.

Archaeological Museum of Sparta
Then drive towards Sparta, The home of the brave Spartans. Don't be desatisfied with the place, because the Spartans invest on their military NOT in their culture, that's why they became so fearless. They were following the "Agogi" system, training from their 7th year till their 30th age to be SOLDIERS. That was their profession !There are some cultural structures mainly built from the Romans on the 1st century AD, when they captured the city. You will visit the archaeological site, where is the Acropolis of Sparta ,olive trees and columns that prove the greatness of the city once. Have some great photos in front of King Leonidas Statue, who fought the Persian army in Thermopylae along with his 300 men. Then , you will visit the archaeological and the oil museum.

Archaeological Site of Mystra
When you feel hungry get ready to taste the famous Greek cuisine and have a memorable lunch;the tour will guide you to a traditional tavern at the small village of Mystras. It's up to you to choose from a variety of flavors of the most known Greek dishes . Mystras was one of the last Byzantine Outposts and the place that Constantinos Palaiologos, last Byzantine emperor lived. Situated on the mount Taygetos, near to ancient Sparta and served the capital of the Byzintine Despotate of Morea in the 14th and 15th centuries.Very serious fortification buildings and churches can be found there from that time. There you will visit the palace and the monasteries in Mystras, beginning from the Fortress Gate and ending at the Main Gate. After that long visit, it is time to return back to Athens, having in our minds the Glory of Sparta and the Byzantine glamour of Mystras.

Magical and unforgettable
Tasos tailored the itinerary so that I could see Agia Theodora, an out of the way place that I would never have gotten to unless I hired a car. This place, along with the rich beauty of the Spartan mountains and the majesty of Mystras, made it a highly memorable trip. Tasos was very knowledgeable, a very careful driver and excellent company! Thank you so much :)

Worth the trip!
Didn't realize how far it was from Athens, but it's a surprise worth traveling for. Mystras has ruins that are remarkably well preserved, with vibrant colors in the wall paintings still visible. Sparta has a warriors spirit but little of it's past remains.

We had an amazing experience with Enjoy Greece Tours
Our driver was George, he was very attentive, we have been a family of 4 adults and 3 kids and George accommodate each age group and make sure we all where comfortable. It took us a little longer than planned to do all the sightseeing since we where with the kids, and George was patient to wait for us. Sights were gorgeous, specially at the top of the mountain of Mystras. Also later George arranged his fellow driver Costas to give us a ride to the airport, which was really nice as all of us could travel in the same car. I would recommend this company to my friends, and would drive with them again when we are in Greece next time.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind words,We hope to see you again in the future!!All the best to you and your family from Enjoy Greece Tours team!

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing cost?
+
Prices start at $651 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Glorious Sparta & Mystras Private Sightseeing start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
