About this experience

Exceptional
I want to compliment the preparation that the boys of Scotland Tour have. On this trip we did more tours with them. In the latter (Glasgow Tour and Lakes of Scotland) Serena and Marcelo were really good!!! Serena, our guide, was careful to tell us with dedication what we visited. Serena entertained group, throughout the duration of the tour, telling us anecdotes and history that otherwise we would never have known! Grazieee infinite Serena!!! Marcelo our super driver..with his prudent and safe guide took us for a walk throughout the tour!! Marcelo grazieeee anche per la simpatia e i tuoi sorrisi!! Everything organized great , all programs respected and beautiful places visited!! Serena e Marcelo......grazieee per questa bellissima giornata! We strongly recommend, in case you want to deepen your knowledge of Scotland, to book visits with ScotlandTour! Alessandra

Nice, but not recommended in winter
The tour was organized and guided perfectly: it is at least the fourth time I tour with Scotland Tour and I must say that they have never let me down. That said, I would advise against this tour in winter due to the fact that it gets dark very early (the sun sets around 15:20) and so when you get to Glasgow it is already dark and you practically don't see anything. I did it in December and in winter the Tour starts at the opposite of the one reported on the site (and this Scotland Tour explicitly specifies it). So it starts with the lakes and the castle and ends with Glasgow. Very beautiful places, first of all Loch Katrine is a dream location indeed. I was a bit disappointed for Glasgow because, being dark and having only travelled the central areas by bus, you could see practically nothing. It was a very quick stop at the Museum, very nice indeed. Having said that, Scotland Tour are really very good, the guide, Serena, very prepared and nice, the driver excellent, the overall organization excellent and therefore always recommend them. Always take into account the period and relative sunlight that you may or may not encounter.

A beautiful day made unique by the legendary Leonardo a well of knowledge!
We were undecided about which tour to do and in the end we opted for something historical and naturalistic! We didn't regret it! Despite sometimes it rained every site visited left us with beautiful memories. Entering the Scottish countryside is thrilling and every kilometre travelled leaves you breathless. Thank you Leonardo for teaching us so many things you are a well of knowledge!

Tour often underestimated but unfairly. Superb driving
It is in my opinion one of the most beautiful tours and the walk along the Katrine loch is exciting, worth the trip alone. The guide, Valeria , absolute added value. The tour is almost hectic , a mix of landscapes and Glasgow ... which is not Edinburgh.... The lakes are beautiful and the visit to the castle had the time it deserved. A difficult task for the guide is not to repeat the usual narrative clichés to entertain his group; an improbable task if in the meantime you also have to drive unlike other colleagues. Valeria was very good, competent, cultured, very skilled at driving the vehicle and never forgets her role as a tourist "guide", kind, interesting and never cloying. Valeria , who, on her own, has even been concerned about alleged difficulties of other colleagues who have stopped along the way...deserves my appreciation and definitely participates in the "excellent" judgment.
Response from the operator: Grazie Dario per questo commento. Valeria è una star. Siamo orgogliosi di averla nel nostro team. Ti ringraziamo da parte sua. Un saluto e speriamo di rivederti presto!

“Cristina the icing” on the cake (guide not guide)!
I write about the tour Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Loch Katrine and Doune Castle, the tour in my opinion but apparently also according to the other participants as set is useless. We left for Glasgow where we quickly visited the medieval cathedral, then toured the city all from the bus being able to take only moved photos!! as there was never a stop and the bus turned and turned around the streets of the city. Then visit the museum of 20 minutes (or maybe 25) counted from when the bus was parking on a side street at the museum, then Loch Lomond. Abandoned to the parking lot, as the bus just unloaded left with the “guide” leaving us practically in disarray in a village that for goodness sake will also have been cute but offered nothing or better for the time allowed to us it was not possible to see anything, the much from the guide extolled castle is not worthy of the name, it just has a beautiful park. There is nothing fancy about it, but we were given an hour. meaningless it was better to have this time available to better visit, in my opinion, the Glasgow museum. Then we leave for Lake Katrine, better than the first but even here the little time allowed us nothing but to take a walk by the lake and then return to the bus with the terror of being late for fear of being left there! Then we headed for the castle (so misnamed, at least according to what our “guide” said). Again too much time available for what little was possible to see. The Tour is definitely badly organized as far as timing is concerned, you don’t have time to see anything and you run where it would be better to have more time and you don’t run and you get bored where you have a little more time. But the icing on the cake was the “guide” Cristina, rude from the start and poorly prepared. on her preparation I connect fully sharing the comment left by another traveler “Francesco S” written in November 2018, on rudeness instead I allow myself to write 2 lines. As soon as we got on the bus we were told: “I want my seatbelts fastened and I don’t want to hear the click until the bus is stopped and completely parked!!”, for goodness sake correct concept but the tone can be used with his brother or son but not with adults. Then you run, and before arriving at the museum we hear the beauty and the many things to see in the 23 rooms but unfortunately you will not have time to see them, maybe you will be able to see one. I got off the bus Cristina had already disappeared inside the museum, we run and we reach her, we ask if possible to have a little more than 20 minutes (also because 5 were already gone), Le’ replies in a dry tone that this is not a private tour, then let’s say that we all agree to dedicate a few minutes more to the museum at the expense of the next lake, she always replies with a dry tone to call the office!!! at this point we just have to run and photograph a couple of paintings and then resort to the bus. At the end of 20 minutes, 4 people are missing, Mrs Cristina says that 3 minutes late (yes 3 minutes) are not allowed and that they should have made do by taking the Spanish bus that had 4 free seats. Then it is pointed out that a girl of the 4 had left her bag on the bus and She sarcastically replies that the Spanish bus was doing the same tour and would join us at the next stop and you will understand what a problem it is to be without a bag for 50 minutes. Apart from that the non-guide Mrs can not know if there are drugs in the bag that one must take, but it really seems to me the apotheosis of rudeness!!! to cut a long story short bickering a little 'we gnawed a couple of minutes that allowed the 4 guys to get back on our bus, where once on they were immediately reprimanded for their delay that now amounted to 5 minutes!!! In addition to the non-driving, there would also be writing on the driver’s guide, scandalous!!! my wife asked if you could avoid braking continuously sharply but Ms Cristina replied that the bus was like this and that (her words with arrogance) “next time we come by train” For us it was the last tour and the last day of vacation that left us a bit bitter, in the previous days we made 4 other excursions, the city of Edinburgh with the guide Alessia, Edinburgh Castle with the guide Ayrton, the ghost tour always with Ayrton and the castles of Glamis and Dunottar with Zeno, all prepared, kind competent. Mrs Cristina maybe wants to close the Scotland tour or I don’t know how it is possible to allow such an arrogant and rude person to represent the tour operator who in this way does not make a good impression. To finish, and I apologize for dwelling, the tour is not well thought out too much in pills, Cristina absolutely must not be a guide, put her in the back office or fire her.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.
How much does Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine cost?
+
Prices start at $76 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.
Is Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Glasgow Loch Lomond Loch Katrine start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?
+
On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh, Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Edinburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
