- 1st landing: BAHIA TORO: We will disembark at Bahía Toro and, accompanied by our guide, we will make an interpretive walk through the Patagonian Andean forest (composed of cherries, cinnamon, lengas and ñires). We will arrive at a copy of centenary cherry (baptized "El Abuelo"), which has a trunk of more than three meters in diameter. Then, we will go through the forest until we reach a waterfall, it gives rise to a beautiful stream. The guide will give us an interpretive talk of that area. From the coast of the lake, we can observe the hanging glaciers of Cerro Mayo and Cerro Negro. We will return to the boat and, in just 15 minutes more navigation, we will arrive at our next stop ...
- 2nd landing: CERRO NEGRO We will disembark at Cerro Negro and, together with the boat's guide, we will begin a walk entering the Patagonian Andean forest. During our walk, we will go along a river that will take us to the Cerro Negro (proper). We will arrive a few meters from the base of said Hill and (from there) we can contemplate the wonderful Black Glacier. This glacier is a "hanging" glacier, this means that it is located on the mountain, "hangs" from it. From it, a large number of waterfalls are born, which give rise to the river that we were bordering throughout our walk. We will stay for a while in this place, observing the incredible landscape around us. Then we will return to the boat that will take us to our next destination ...
- 3Er disembarkation: GLACIAR PERITO MORENO: Returning with navigation, we will leave the Seno Mayo to return to navigate the Canal de los Témpanos. In a few minutes, we will begin to see (at the end of the Canal) the north wall of the Perito Moreno glacier. Upon arriving there we will make a slow navigation in front of said wall, during which we can appreciate its height, its extension, and (if luck accompanies us) we can see some detachment. We will also navigate in front of the area where (every certain number of years) the phenomenon of the glacier rupture occurs, a fact that has given it international fame. Then we will disembark in Puerto Moreno to go (in the company of our guide) to the catwalks, which are located in front of the Perito Moreno glacier. Once there, we will have free time to walk and observe the glacier from the different balconies. At the time set by the guide, we will return to Puerto Moreno to embark again and return to our last stop, the Puerto de Punta Bandera.

+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit El Calafate?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in El Calafate?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
