Driver didn’t show up! When we finally got ahold of him we were told it was canceled yet nobody informed us. Our last night we could have made other arrangements

Nothing special

They light up the piramides and from time to time play a video and some lazers. While this is happening they go through the egyptian history, narrated by a british old school documentary voice. Its ok to see, but really nothing special for 20 dollar per person. 23 for vip, which is jusr the first 3 rows and a better cushion. The show is about 1 hour long. Make sure you have a warm sweater or jacket with you, because it can get cold with only a light breeze.

Friendly Staff, Good Service

Thank you Mohammed Mahmoud & Ahmed Abo Kher for your friendly service. Though you can purchase the tickets yourself at the gate for cheaper than the tour it is good to book this package as it includes return transport from your hotel so you pay that bit more for personal safe transport.

A great introduction to Egypt

The quality of the sound and professionalism of this show cannot be overstated. An excellent history of Egypt presented as if from the Sphinx. Our Emo guide picked us up at our hotel and helped us find a great seat. This open-air presentation is a fantastic way to begin any trip to Egypt, especially for those who love history. A great way to spend an evening in Giza.

Response from the operator: Dear guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this excellent review.  We really appreciate your business.  Please let us know what we can do for you in the future. Sincerely, Emo Tours Egypt

Not a must-see

You sit on chairs in the open air at night so that's pleasant. The show illuminates the Pyramids, the Sphinx etc following a narration you hear. It all seemed very impressive to begin with with. Then in a while, the narration's disjointed sequencing, overly grandiose air and overload of names and dates started to put me off a bit. Plus, the lighting effects weren't particularly imaginative given the fabulous monuments concerned. People were fidgeting and looking around the audience aimlessly towards the end of the show, and I was not sad when it came to an end. If you're planning to visit the Pyramids by day and explore around the area, climb inside etc, then you might want to give this a miss and do something else instead.

Response from the operator: Dear our valued customer Thank you for this review and thank you for choosing Egypt to visit and to enjoy its historical and exciting places. we hope to repeat your visit to Egypt again to see more tourist places and enjoy it , thanks again. Best regards EMO TOURS EGYPT

Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.

How much does Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show cost?

+

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.

Is Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Giza Pyramids Sound and Light show start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cairo?

+

On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
