An Amazing Way to Experience the Real Kyoto
We had an amazing private tour through Gion and Higashiyama with Dominic. Of course, we saw some of the famous sights, but what made the tour really special were all the little hidden streets, stories and details we would have completely missed on our own. Dominic knows Kyoto incredibly well and gave us a much deeper understanding of the city, its history, traditions and everyday life. He explains everything in a very natural and interesting way, and you can really feel his passion for Japan and its culture. A real highlight was visiting a private Zen temple away from the crowds. Having access to such a peaceful place in the middle of Kyoto felt very special and was a wonderful contrast to the busy streets outside. We came away feeling like we had experienced much more than just the sights. A fantastic way to discover the real Kyoto, and absolutely recommended!
