What you'll see and do

  1. Batu Caves

Batu Caves is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu, which flows past the hill. It is the tenth limestone hill from Ampang. Batu Caves is also the name of a nearby village. Wooden steps up to the Temple Cave were built in 1920 and have since been replaced by 272 concrete steps. Of the various cave temples that comprise the site, the largest and best known is the Temple Cave, so named because it houses several Hindu shrines beneath its high vaulted ceiling. In August 2018 the 272 steps were painted in an extraordinary colour scheme, with each set of steps painted in a different range of colours. However accusations were almost immediately made by the National Heritage Department for a breach of law requiring authorisation for renovations within 200 metres of a heritage site. The temple's management disputed their failure to receive authorisation.

One of the temple’s most recognised landmarks is a nine-storey Pagoda, which is fitted with images of Buddha and thousands of blessing lamps. Visitors are allowed to climb the steps towards the top of the pagoda, where they are greeted with panoramic views of the mountain. Within the temple grounds are gigantic statues of Buddha and Kuan Yin, as well as intricate sculptures of animals and inscriptions of ancient Chinese traditions and beliefs. Visitor can see this temple from the cable car on the way to the top.

Our bad experience

First, driver was 30 minutes late. It was suppose to be a full day trip but lasted only for 7 hours and we missed theme park due to the lack of instructions. Not worth the price. There was no strawberries in the farm either. Cable car ride was the only thing we enjoyed. This should be longer than 7 hours to have a perfect experience.

Good experience but more information needed

The driver was friendly, but there was very little interaction overall. There was no guide and no contact with the agency during the excursion. Although we appreciated the hotel pick-up and drop-off at a hotel of our choice, the experience did not match what was promised in the itinerary and what we paid for. We were promised one hour at Batu Caves, but instead we had a 15-minute stop at a shop imposed by the driver, selling food and souvenirs that did not interest us. As a result, we had to rush through Batu Caves in only 45 minutes. We were a family of 8, including a young child, so climbing the stairs and visiting the cave under time pressure was very stressful. After that, we were dropped off at Genting Highlands with no explanations at all. The visit to the strawberry farm was skipped entirely, and we were only given the pick-up time. We had less than four hours to manage everything on our own, including figuring out how to use the Skyway cable car. We were not informed that there were multiple stops, nor that to reach Skytropolis Indoor Theme Park we had to get off at a specific station and walk to another building. Nothing was explained, and there was very little signage on site, so we had to figure everything out by ourselves. The Skyway experience itself was breathtaking, but the overall excursion was spoiled by very poor communication. In the end, we were only able to do two out of the four activities included in the itinerary, which is very disappointing. Fortunately, we were with family and managed to still make it a good moment together, but this excursion could have been much better with proper organization and clear communication.

Response from the operator: This activity not include tour Guide, its already mention at the itinerary.

Over all good 👍🏻 experience

It was great experience to visit such a beautiful hill station, I would like to visit the place again and explore palaces at the mid station of cable car.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your support.

Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuala Lumpur.

How much does Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride cost?

+

Prices start at $28 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuala Lumpur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuala Lumpur is not rushed.

Is Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuala Lumpur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuala Lumpur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuala Lumpur and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Genting Highland Full-Day Tour Include 2-Way Cable car Ride start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuala Lumpur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuala Lumpur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sambal Streets Kuala Lumpur Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Genting Highland & Batu Cave Guided Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour), Private Half-Day Batu Caves and Cutural Tour in Kuala Lumpur. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuala Lumpur?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
