Family fun
This class was so much fun. We learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of it. Giuliana is very sweet.

Just book the class! You’re welcome 😉
My wife found this hidden jewel of an artisan, hands on gelato making class in Lucca. We had so much fun and learned a LOT. The reward at the end was our own world class gelato. AND WE GOT TO SAMPLE AS MANY FLAVORS AS WE WANTED! Guilia is a trained culinary school chef and the sweetest person. We highly recommend her class and their artisan gelato. All natural ingredients. So creamy. Two shops in Lucca and the academy where the class is taught. They also have a shop in Dubai, which speaks to their quality. It's really unbelievable.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for the beautiful words! It was a real pleasure to welcome you and your wife to our Academy Lab and share together our passion for homemade ice cream. Knowing that you had fun, learned a lot and appreciated the quality and creaminess of our tastes fills us with joy. Giulia will be very happy to read your review: she always puts her heart into every lesson and your enthusiasm is the greatest reward. We hope to see you again soon in Lucca to taste new creations and live other sweet experiences together!

So fun and we learned a lot
This was such an unexpected joy. Guilia was our teacher and is culinary trained and we learned a lot and had so much fun. And hey at the end we got to taste the world’s best gelato! It’s so good they have two shops in Lucca and one in DUBAI! Highly recommend the class. Ya’ can’t drink wine all day 😂
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! Gelato, wine or wine’s gelato, why not?😉

Wonderful experience, so fun!
Amazing experience with Giulia. We made apricot and pistachio gelato from scratch and tried a ton of other flavors. It was delicious and so much fun! Highly recommend to any type of group, including with children. It was fantastic!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, it’s a pleasure sharing our philosophy and our work. Thank you!!

Gelato Making/Tasting Experience
Giulia was amazing! This family-run experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Our class was just me and my friend, so it felt very personal and hands-on. We made two gelato flavors ourselves, sampled those along with several others, and learned the difference between true artisanal gelato and mass-produced versions. The tasting alone was incredible — we got to try about 6–7 delicious flavors. The class takes place in their actual gelato lab rather than one of the storefronts. It’s located outside the walls of Lucca in a more commercial area, so don’t worry if you wonder whether you’re in the right place — you are! Once inside, the people, the passion, and the experience are absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience. Thank you for this amazing review!

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lucca.
How much does Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lucca usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lucca is not rushed.
Is Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lucca, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lucca can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lucca and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Gelato Class - Cremeria Opera start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lucca within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lucca?
+
On Outty we rank every Lucca experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tuscan Wine Tour in Lucca by van, Lucca’s Ultimate Food Tour: Full Tuscan Meal by Do Eat Better, Lucca Bikes and Bites with food tastings for Small Groups or Private. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lucca?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lucca?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

+
