We loved the zip line. Did it twice. The people on the phone lied about the price, no one smiled , food was terrible.
The price for VIP was $69 us. For 1/2 day. I was quoted on the phone $120 us. Even confirmed we were already on island and he said they were wrong at the gate. I screen shotted my receipt to the man on text - clearly a liar. Because it was windy there was no snorkel, no paddle and no paddle board. Our options were eat ( bad) bar( bad) or tirolisa. Zip line ( loved) all in all I would go again with people that had never been but will skip it next time. Having staff smile, better food and drink and more options would have helped. But, not much .
Response from the operator: Dear Customer: Thank you for sharing your experience. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the zipline so much that you decided to ride it twice. We would like to clarify a few points regarding your review. The ticket you originally purchased through us was the Basic Admission, which includes a national open bar and the regular buffet. At no point did we require or pressure you to upgrade to the VIP admission. Upon arriving at the park, you chose to upgrade to the VIP pass directly at the ticket office. Regarding the price, the $69 USD rate applies to the Half-Day VIP pass, which is only available for purchase at the park's ticket office. The price we quoted over the phone was for the Full-Day VIP pass, as we were not asked about the half-day option. As for the water activities, we regret that the weather conditions prevented them from operating. The safety of our guests is always our top priority, and activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding depend on weather and sea conditions beyond our control. We appreciate your feedback regarding the service, food, and beverages, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide an experience that better meets your expectations. Warm Regards

If you’re a tourist paying full price, it’s honestly not worth it at all.
I wouldn’t recommend coming here at full price, it’s absolutely not worth it. Instead of relaxing, you end up spending the entire day standing in endless lines. My husband and I waited 40 minutes at the bar, then 65 minutes for the zipline, and another 50 minutes for snorkeling. There was basically no enjoyment, just constant frustration. We didn’t even get a chance to eat, even though it was included in the price. The café closed at 4:00 PM while the park itself stays open until 5:00 PM, which makes no sense. The pool was also very cloudy, like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We paid 1,000 pesos for two people since we live in Quintana Roo (so about 500 pesos per person), and at that price it’s somewhat acceptable. But if you’re a tourist paying full price, it’s honestly not worth it at all. And what really pushed me over the edge: while I was naked in the shower, a woman walked in with her fairly grown son (he looked around 12). When I told her this was the women’s shower room and asked what he was doing there, she said, “He’s just a child.” Seriously? He was basically her height and clearly not a little kid anymore. Why is no one enforcing basic rules and allowing pre-teen boys into the women’s shower room? 🤦🏼♀️
Response from the operator: Dear Madam, We are very sorry to read about the experience you describe, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. After carefully reviewing our reservation and operational records, we were unable to find any booking associated with your name in our system. We also do not offer local resident pricing such as the one mentioned, nor do we recognize the type of promotion described. Therefore, it is possible that your visit may have been with a different operator or establishment. That said, we take your comments regarding the overall park experience and the issues you mentioned very seriously. If you could help us confirm the date of your visit or provide any additional details, we would be happy to investigate further. We remain at your disposal to clarify this situation and thank you again for your feedback. Sincerely,

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet cost?
+
Prices start at $118 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Garrafon Reef Park VIP Area & Snorkeling & Kayaking & Buffet start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
