What you get to see is worth the price

The fortress at Klis and Cave Vranjaca were fabulous and well worth the price. It was basically just a private driver to the sites outside of Split, but that was what we needed. However, our driver Roko was late to pick us up, then stopped for petrol, taking 30 minutes off our time. He left off one of the itinerary sites because of this. I would recommend this trip for the sites we got to see, especially if you have more than 2 days on Split.

    Great tour

The sights were fabulous and the driver shared a lot about life in Croatia that we wouldn’t have been able to learn about otherwise.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words, Judi! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the tour and learning more about life in Croatia. It means a lot to us that you visited places like Klis Fortress and Salona with us. We hope to welcome you again on another adventure in the future 😊

Expensive driver to nice tour spots

Paying for this tour is basically paying for a private car. The driver does not give any of the tours and only gives a one sentence explanation of each site. While the driver was friendly and helpful it was not worth the price considering you had to pay at each site for entrance. If you are only looking for a driver this is useful, but be aware this is not paying for any sort of guided tour. The tour spots were great, although the Salona amphitheatre was a little bit underwhelming and we didn’t go to the caves because we were late for another tour. Plan for 4.5-5 hours with driving on this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed visiting places like Klis Fortress and Salona. We would like to clarify that our tour is designed as a panoramic experience with a professional driver, rather than a fully guided tour, which is also indicated in the tour description. Entrance tickets are not included, allowing guests the flexibility to choose which sites they would like to visit. The cave visit is normally included in the itinerary, and we always aim to complete all planned stops. In some cases, timing can be adjusted depending on guests’ schedules or preferences. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve and better communicate the experience to future guests. Thank you again for your feedback.

    Expensive taxi, not a tour

This should not be described as a tour. It was nothing more than an expensive personal car taxi service to take us to 4 locatios around Split. "WE ARE AT ....., GO THERE TO BUY YOUR TICKET, BE BACK IN 45 MINUTES." Nothing wrong except we probably could have hired any local taxi for less and perhaps gotten better recommendations on what to see.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear the tour did not match your expectations. During the experience, the guide shared information about the locations, local history, and recommendations throughout the journey, while also allowing free time at each stop so guests could explore at their own pace. In several locations, extra time was given beyond the planned itinerary to make the experience more relaxed and enjoyable. Regarding entrance tickets, these are not included in the tour price, as stated in the tour description before booking. We appreciate your comments and thank you for joining the tour.

    Great Day Out

Really good trip. Tomislav drove us to all the destinations without the hassle of making our way there and we were able to do all sites within 4 hours. You do have to pay extra for the entrance to the sites but they are not very expensive. The order is perfect as well because we did salona in the morning while it wasn't too hot. Then Klis and finished in the caves which were very cool in the afternoon heat. Recommend

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review! We’re really happy to hear you enjoyed the day and that everything was well organised – especially the timing of the stops to avoid the heat 😊 Tomislav will be very happy to hear your kind words, we’ll be sure to pass them on! We always try to make the experience as smooth and stress-free as possible, so it’s great to know that made a difference. Thank you again for your recommendation and we hope to see you again in the future!

Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Game of Thrones, Ancient Salona & Hidden Dalmatia Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
