What you'll see and do
Petra
Petra, the Rose-Red City, was the impressive capital of the Nabataean kingdom whose ruins remained hidden to most of the world until the Swiss explorer, JL Burckhardt, disguised as an Arab scholar, infiltrated the city in 1812. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Meet your private guide at the site and hike or ride a horse down to the entrance of the Siq, a long, winding sandstone canyon that leads to the Treasury. The tour continues to the Street of Facades, the Roman Theater and the Royal Tombs. Note that travel time is 3 hours driving from Amman to Petra and another 3 hours.

A Perfect Day in Petra & Wadi Rum
We booked a one-day trip to Petra and Wadi Rum with Petra Limo, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable days of our trip to Jordan. From start to finish, everything was organized perfectly. Our driver, Khalid, was fantastic. He was punctual, professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. He made us feel comfortable throughout the entire day and was always there whenever we needed anything. Visiting Petra together was an incredible experience. Standing in front of the Treasury for the first time was truly breathtaking, and exploring the ancient city was something we will both remember for a very long time. We then continued to Wadi Rum, where the spectacular desert landscape gave us a completely different but equally unforgettable experience. Even with so much to see in one day, we never felt that the trip was stressful. Khalid managed everything smoothly and allowed us to enjoy each stop at our own pace. His local knowledge, kindness, and attention to detail really made a difference. For couples looking to experience the best of Jordan in a limited amount of time, we would absolutely recommend Petra Limo. Having a private driver made the day so much easier and allowed us to simply relax and enjoy the journey together. A huge thank you to Khalid for making our day so special. Petra was spectacular, Wadi Rum was unforgettable, and the entire experience was made even better by the excellent service. We highly recommend Petra Limo and Khalid — 5 stars without hesitation!

Absolutely Exceptional Petra & Wadi Rum Experience
Our one-day trip to Petra and Wadi Rum with Petra Limo was simply outstanding from beginning to end. What could have been a long and exhausting day was transformed into an incredibly smooth, comfortable, and unforgettable experience. From the moment we were picked up, the service was professional, punctual, comfortable, and perfectly organized. The team at Petra Limo took care of every detail and made us feel genuinely looked after throughout the entire journey. Petra was breathtaking. Seeing the Treasury in person after walking through the Siq was a moment we will never forget. The ancient city, the incredible landscapes, and the atmosphere were beyond anything we expected. Then came Wadi Rum, which was the perfect second part of the adventure. The vast red desert, spectacular rock formations, and incredible scenery made us feel like we had stepped onto another planet. Despite having only one day, Petra Limo organized everything so efficiently that we were able to experience both destinations without feeling that the day was chaotic. What impressed us most was the quality of the service. Everything felt personal and seamless, from the transportation to the coordination throughout the day. The team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure we had an amazing experience. If you are looking for a private, high-quality, hassle-free day trip to Petra and Wadi Rum, I cannot recommend Petra Limo highly enough. This was one of the most memorable days of our trip to Jordan. Exceptional service, incredible destinations, and a truly unforgettable experience. 5 stars without hesitation!

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amman.
How much does Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amman usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amman is not rushed.
Is Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amman, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amman can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amman and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Petra and Wadi Rum Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amman within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Amman?
+
On Outty we rank every Amman experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Amman: Petra and Wadi rum Private/Group Full day Tour, From Amman :Private or Group Full day tour to Petra, Amman Petra Full-Day Trip. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Amman?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Amman?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
