Awesome Amazon Experience
The 4 day 3 night tour with Amazon Wonder Expeditions was awesome. Luis went out of his way to fit me in on the only dates I had available and personally came to collect me from my hotel on the first morning. Francisco was a fantastic guide out in the jungle - I got to see pirahna, sloths, monkeys, dolphins, iguana, more monkeys, tarantulas, lizards, frogs, anacondas, toucan, macaw, and even more monkeys. The lodge was comfortable with private room and bathroom and the meals were excellent. There was even high speed Starlink internet. There was fishing (for pirahna), day trips to see wildlife and a small village experience, and night walks in the jungle. I swam in the mighty Amazon river. On the last day Luis even took the 2 hour boat ride from Iquitos down to the lodge so that I didn't have to take the trip back by myself. A fantastic experience with an excellent operator that I recommend highly !!

Incredible almost private tour. All inclusive
After some research on instagram I found this tour group and booked direct. I paid 50% upfront for myself and my wife and paid the rest in cash once I collected. Luis was super chill with the booking and payment. Morning of the tour he collect us from my hotel in Iquitos and brought us to the port. This is where we met our guide and now a good friend Francisco. Very easy going person and super friendly from the beginning. He helped me a lot with buying some last minute supplies. After doing a very interesting tour of the market at the port we then got on the boat and met the other person on our tour. A total of 3 people. Myself, my wife and another lady. After this we went to our lodge which was around 2 hours. From the boat it was like 3 minutes walk. Amazing lodge and again we were the only guests until our last night. Food was served three times a day all meals were amazing. Different types of juice were also served at each meal. I brought my own beer as I can only imagine prices there. But they do have drinks there to buy, alcoholic and non alcoholic in a fridge. I was able to keep the drink I brought in their fridge. Day and night jungle walks are just by the lodge but for being only 2 hours away from Iquitos it’s amazing. The one thing that stood out was the noises, at different stages of the day there were different noises. Our trip brought us to different villages either by boat or by foot. All people were super friendly who we encountered. It seems like our guide knew a lot of locals there from his visits. Lodge facilities; room was nice and no insects got inside. Private bathroom was a nice treat. Showers are cold water only but being in that humidity it’s fine also the pressure was great. Room was big and had a fan which worked wonders. Power outlets were everywhere. Power was restricted but we had it more than what I thought. Evening you had the most time with power. But for breakfast and lunch we had power. They have starlink WiFi which unfortunately wasn’t strong enough the reach our room. But in the dining room it was super fast. The boat we used was nice and big. Very stable, safe to bring family with kids. I think for the price this tour is amazing, Highlights for me on this trip was lagoon at night, jungle walk day and night. Visiting the other villages, swimming in the Amazon and piranha fishing. We also got on another boat on a smaller river that was amazing too. I also must thank the chef and the boat operator. Tips for anyone thinking of going with this tour; bring cash- some villages there are small children which you buy candy for. The tribe you visit also sell some souvenirs that you can buy. Bring beer if you are like me, nothing beats a long day in the jungle than a cold beer. The lodge is your home and the rain or insects won’t bother you here. But on your trips out bring that insect repellent, we had spray and lotion. I had a head net but it wasn’t needed as it does block your view of the wildlife so it was left in our room for the remainder of the trip. Highly recommend Amazon wonder expeditions. Thank you to all the crew. Kevin
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Kevin, for taking the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful review of your experience with Amazon Wonder Expeditions! It was a real pleasure having you and your wife with us, and we are especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the entire experience, from the market visit and boat journey to the jungle walks, village visits, swimming in the Amazon, piranha fishing, and the unforgettable night lagoon. We truly appreciate your kind words about Luis and especially Francisco. We are glad that Francisco made you feel comfortable from the very beginning and was able to help you with those last-minute preparations. It is also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed getting to know the local communities and experiencing the Amazon beyond just the wildlife. Thank you as well for recognizing the work of our chef and boat operator. Our entire team works hard behind the scenes to make sure our guests have good food, safe transportation, and an authentic experience in the rainforest, so your words mean a lot to all of us. We also appreciate the detailed comments about the lodge and the practical tips you shared for future travelers. Electricity, internet, insects, cold showers, and the sounds of the jungle are all part of staying in a remote Amazonian environment, but we are glad that you found the lodge comfortable and that the facilities exceeded your expectations. And we love that one of your highlights was simply listening to the different sounds of the rainforest throughout the day. Those are the kinds of experiences that make the Amazon so special and difficult to forget. Thank you again for choosing Amazon Wonder Expeditions, for recommending us, and for becoming part of our Amazon family. It was a pleasure to have you with us, Kevin, and we hope to see you and your wife again in the Peruvian Amazon someday! Warm regards, The Amazon Wonder Expeditions Team

What a trip through the jungle!
This trip was absolutely wonderful. Went with our little family unit of parents and two boys (9 and 4). We started with a nice long boat ride along the Amazon river, where we spotted several pink river dolphins and grey river dolphins. We got to the resort, which was not the greatest as they only run power for a few hours a day (its very hot and that means no ac or fans or device charging), and you cant hangout outside due to the trillions of mosquitos that will bite you through your clothes. We had lunch and then went piranha fishing and dolphin watching again. The food we ate was absolutely wonderful the entire time we were there, each one hitting the spot after a long day of walking through the rainforest. Monkey Island was a lot of fun, you don't actually get to play with the monkeys but its amazing to see. We held sloths in the Yagua Village and got to witness their tribes customs and had a chance to buy real handcrafted souvenirs made by them. We didn't do any of the night excursions, as our kids were exhausted by then, but our guide Frank took care of us and made sure we saw as much as possible. He was incredibly knowledgeable about animals and the jungle and the history of the region.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with Amazon Wonder Expeditions! We are very happy to know that you and your family, including your two boys, had such a memorable adventure in the Amazon. It is fantastic to hear that you enjoyed the boat journey, the pink and gray river dolphins, piranha fishing, Monkey Island, the Yagua community, and of course the delicious meals throughout your stay. We especially appreciate your kind words about Frank. He is passionate about the Amazon rainforest, its wildlife, and the history and culture of the region, and we are very glad that he was able to make your family feel comfortable while adapting the activities to the energy levels of your children. Traveling with young children in the rainforest can be quite an adventure! Regarding the lodge, we appreciate your honest comments. Staying deep in the Amazon means experiencing a very different environment from a city hotel, including limited electricity and the natural presence of mosquitoes. These are part of the realities of being immersed in such a remote and biodiverse ecosystem. Nevertheless, we understand that the heat and lack of continuous electricity can be challenging, especially for families with young children. Thank you again for choosing Amazon Wonder Expeditions and for trusting us with your family adventure. We are delighted that, despite the challenges of the rainforest, you had such a wonderful experience and were able to discover and enjoy the incredible wildlife, culture, and landscapes of the Peruvian Amazon. We hope to welcome your family back to the Amazon someday for another unforgettable adventure! Warm regards, Amazon Wonder Expeditions Team

An amazing experience in the Amazon with Amazon Wonder Expeditions and the crew
It was an amazing experience in the Amazon jungle… the crew Luis (owner of the tours), Franco the tour guide who spent the 4 days with us, Julio who drove the boat along the Rio’s showing us dolphins and more, Herman who was the Lodge keeper and Tatiana our Chef who cooked very tasty meals for us, were all great and made us feel at home. It is a ‘must’ experience to do in your lifetime to explore the Amazon by, dawn, by day and by night…to see the wildlife, the faun and flora of nature and of course the micro life happening at our feet. The experiences we had in the tour was really great and inspiring all the more because of the great crew who made it feel very special to us. Thank you Luis, Franco, Julio, Herman and Tatiana for making this experience very special to us but most of all for looking after us for these 4 days with such care and attention.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Iquitos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Iquitos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
