    Amazing Scotland

I don’t usually write reviews, but Stephen deserves every word. Our family spent three days touring Scotland with him, and it’s no exaggeration to say he made our trip extraordinary. From the moment he greeted us, he treated us not like clients, but like family — with genuine warmth, patience, and a level of care that is becoming rarer. Stephen is one of those people who immediately puts you at ease. He’s kind, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable. He shares Scotland’s history the way a friend would, with stories, humor, and a deep love for his country. Every stop felt intentional, every route chosen with care, and every moment was infused with his quiet charm. What meant the most to me personally was how he cared for our daughter, Jaya. She’ll be studying abroad at the University of Stirling this fall, which is why we made Sterling one of our days, and he made her feel at home there. He even offered to be her emergency contact while she’s in Scotland! Humanity does exist! As a mother, that gesture meant more than I can express. It wasn’t something he had to do. It wasn’t part of any tour. It was simply who he is. We’ve traveled extensively, and we’ve had wonderful guides, but Stephen is in a category of his own. The other reviews on his website describe him perfectly, professional, warm, funny, deeply knowledgeable, and someone who goes above and beyond without ever making it feel like “extra.” We felt exactly the same. He is the reason our Scotland trip will stay with us forever. If you are considering booking Edinburgh Cab Tours, do it. And if you’re lucky enough to have Stephen as your guide, you will experience Scotland not just as a visitor, but as someone welcomed into the heart of the country. Thank you, Stephen — for the memories, the care, and the kindness. You are truly one of a kind. — Linda R.

Five Stars!! Like touring the countryside with your new Scottish best friend

Hands down one of the best tour guides I have had ANYWHERE. It really helps that Stephen is an Edinburgh local. He knows his city and country like the back of his hand, and is such a personable guy. You feel like he's your new best friend after about an hour of chatting with him. Sometimes it can be awkward doing a tour in a new country, because you feel like you're going to say or do the wrong thing, or ask a dumb question, but he makes it so fun, with snacks, jokes and plenty of bathroom breaks. He is always concerned about your comfort and anticipates your needs for a coffee break, or wanting to stop to stretch and get fresh air. It's more like driving around with an old friend who wants to show you how great his country is. I cannot recommend him enough for personable service and beautiful drives around the most beautiful country in the world. I'm ready to book another trip soon to see other parts of the country!

Response from the operator: Aww Erika, thank you so much for such a kind review. It was so much fun touring with you again. What a laugh we had lol - mostly at my expense haha. I sincerely hope we make it a fourth time touring together. We are definetely pals for life. Cannot wait till your next visit. Best wishes - Stephen @ Edinburgh Cab Tours

    Bespoke Scotland tours

Stephan took us on two bespoke tours. One to Stirling Castle, stopping at several of our ancestors birth places and the second day to St Andrew’s. He also did our airport transfers. All were fantastic. I highly recommend Stephan’s tours. They are awesome!

So relaxing, such a good laugh, delicious food, fascinating history and beautiful scenery. Cant wait till the next time you come and we can do it all again. Thanks again Ellen and Ken, we're officially pals for life Best wishes - Stephen @ Edinburgh Cab Tours

Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Edinburgh.

How much does Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast cost?

    +

Prices start at $1136 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Edinburgh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Edinburgh is not rushed.

Is Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full Day Tour to St Andrews, Dunfermline & the Fife Coast start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?

    +

On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Edinburgh: Glenfinnan Viaduct, Glencoe & Fort William, Edinburgh: Loch Ness, Glencoe and The Highlands, Original Harry Potter Locations: Guided Walking Tour in Edinburgh. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Edinburgh?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
