Highly recommend it!!

I had an amazing experience with this tour. The lagoon was extremely beautiful and unique. Tour guides were very well organized and very nice. Make sure to have comfortable hiking shoes as it gets dusty on the way to lagoon, make sure to get a horse on the way up since there’s a high elevation and harder to breath. Other than that, totally worth it

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that the lagoon’s beauty and uniqueness left such a strong impression, and that our guides’ organization and kindness made your day even better. Your thoughtful tips about hiking shoes and using horses at high elevation will surely help future visitors. We truly appreciate your kind words and recommendation—it means a lot to us. We’re thrilled you found the tour totally worth it and hope to welcome you back for more adventures!

Beautiful Ecuador and its people.

Not enough time

The tour started by visiting a local market. It sold veggies, fruits, rice, meats, cooking oils, etc. We spent 30 minutes there and the market was not interesting. Then we visited an indigenous family. This was more interesting. Then we only 2 hours at the Laguna. That was not enough time at all, if you wanted to go to the Laguna shores. Then we spent another hour at a lunch place. The food was ok.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing your experience and for your thoughtful 4‑star review. We’re glad you enjoyed meeting the indigenous family and spending time at the Laguna, even if the visit felt a bit short. Your feedback about the market and timing is very valuable and helps us improve the balance of our tours. We appreciate your comments on the lunch as well, and we’ll continue working to make each part of the day more enjoyable. We’re grateful for your trust and look forward to welcoming you again with even better experiences!

A great one-day option from Quito

Anthony was a great guide, offering the group explanations in both Spanish (which I could practice) and English (so I could understand, haha). The activities were well-timed to break up the diving necessary, the bus was comfortable (even if the roads aren't always!), and the included hot meal was a nice taste of Ecuador. The volcano and lagoon are of course the highlight, and was an amazing experience! I cannot recommend strongly enough renting a kayak and going out into the middle to take it all in. :-) Note that you'll need to be pretty fit to make the hike back out at such a high elevation on foot (but riding a horse out is also an option for $10/person). All in all, just a fantastic day and overall experience (and workout!)!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that Anthony’s bilingual guiding made the day both informative and enjoyable, and that the timing of the activities, the comfort of the bus, and the hot Ecuadorian meal added to your adventure. We’re thrilled that the volcano and lagoon left such a lasting impression, and we love your recommendation about kayaking out to the middle—it truly is a magical way to take it all in. Your thoughtful note about the hike back at high elevation will surely help future travelers prepare, and we appreciate you highlighting the horse option as well. It means the world to us that you had a fantastic day filled with discovery, culture, and a bit of a workout too! Thank you again for your kind words and 5-star review. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon. Warm regards, The Kajol Lavan Travel Team

A Nice day at Quilotoa lagoon

About 2.5 hrs in total at Quilotoa. About 45 minutes to decent and about 1.5 hrs to get back up Not much time for boating at the lake. Pretty cold at the lake level. If you are planning to use a horse to return back up, the horse I had really struggled. So, if you are like me 80-90 kg plus the backpack, it could be a problem. I chose to get off the horse about 1/3 of the way up and struggled back up the rest of the way under my own steam. It is quite steep.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the review, safe and happy travels!

Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.

How much does Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $1 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Tour to Quilotoa Lagoon From Quito with Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Quito?

+

On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities, Gastronomic and Cultural Walking Tour of Quito with Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Quito?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Quito?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
