In this charming village, you will see adobe homes, narrow cobbled streets, and people in traditional Peruvian clothing. Here, the villagers still practice many Inca traditions and crafts. If you wish, you will see the demonstration of how wool is washed and dyed using native plants and minerals.

  2. Maras Moray Tours

We will then continue our journey to Moray in order to see the fascinating site used by the Incas for agricultural experiments and cultivating seeds. There, you will learn how cleverly designed a drainage system at the bottom of the terraces in order to avoid flooding during the rainy season.

40 minutes here · Admission not included

  3. After the tour of Moray, you will take a 20 minute bus ride to the salt mines of Maras. At this amazing site, you can see the pans fed by saline spring water that were built on steep terraces along one side of a narrow valley. The water is sent through the network of channels where the water slowly evaporates leaving the salt behind. Salt has been collected from Maras since pre-Incan times and it is thought that a collective of salt miners has maintained the terraces and channels for hundreds of years.

40 minutes here · Admission not included

  4. Ollantaytambo

We will continue our scenic journey to the amazing town of Ollantaytambo. Ollantaytambo is a classic Incan city which conserves the traditional Incan urban construction of narrow streets adjacent to flowing streams. As you walk through the stone streets, the gentle sound of flowing water will make it easy for you to imagine the city as it was in the time of the Incas. In the upper part of the town, there is an impressive ceremonial center that was used for water worship and also a mighty fortress that protected the access point to the lower part of the valley. We will follow the beautiful route to Urubamba, the heart of the Sacred Valley, where we will stop for a buffet lunch

    40 minutes here

  5. Pisac

After lunch, we will take you to the small village of Pisaq, where you can enjoy your lively artisan market and have some free time to interact with the townsfolk and to shop for handcrafts and souvenirs. Outstanding Sacred Valley, Moray, Maras and Cusco Tour with Yupi Travel Machupicchu

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Outstanding Sacred Valley, Moray, Maras & Cusco Tour with Yupi Travel Machupicchu** After our unforgettable Machu Picchu experience, we booked the **Sacred Valley, Moray, Maras Salt Mines and Cusco city tour** with **Yupi Travel Machupicchu**, and once again it exceeded every expectation. Michael was our guide throughout, and by the end of the trip we felt we had travelled with a knowledgeable friend rather than just a tour guide. Michael has an exceptional command of Inca history, archaeology, agriculture and Andean culture. At **Moray**, he explained how the remarkable circular terraces functioned as an agricultural research centre, where the Incas created different microclimates to test crops, multiply seeds and improve varieties. As a plant physiologist, I found his explanations particularly fascinating because he connected history, agriculture and science in a way that made the site come alive. At the **Maras Salt Mines**, Michael described how a naturally saline spring has been feeding thousands of salt evaporation ponds since pre-Inca times. He explained the traditional harvesting methods that local families still follow today and how the salt industry has supported the community for centuries. He even pointed out marine shell fossils in the surrounding rocks and explained how this region of Peru was once covered by a shallow sea millions of years ago before the Andes were uplifted. It was a wonderful blend of geology, history and culture. Our **Cusco city tour** was equally impressive. Michael walked us through the magnificent Inca stonework, the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), colonial churches and the historic plazas, carefully explaining how Spanish colonial architecture was built upon Inca foundations. His storytelling helped us understand not only the monuments but also the remarkable history of the Inca civilization and its legacy. One thing that pleasantly surprised us was Michael's knowledge of **birds**. He is an excellent bird enthusiast with a keen eye and remarkable ability to spot species that most of us would have walked straight past. Along the route he regularly stopped to point out birds perched high in the trees or soaring over the valley, and helped us identify several species, including some that are endemic to the Andes. His enthusiasm for nature added an entirely new dimension to the tour and made the journey between destinations just as enjoyable as the sites themselves. What also sets Michael apart is his patience and willingness to answer every question, whether it was about archaeology, agriculture, geology, local traditions, wildlife or modern Peru. He never rushed us, always made sure everyone was comfortable, and shared countless interesting stories that you simply would not find in guidebooks. The entire tour was exceptionally well organised, with punctual transportation, excellent communication and a perfectly paced itinerary. Every destination was given enough time to explore and appreciate without ever feeling hurried. If you are looking for a tour company in Peru that combines professionalism, reliability and genuine passion for sharing their country's heritage, I wholeheartedly recommend **Yupi Travel Machupicchu**. And if you are fortunate enough to have **Michael** as your guide, you are in for an unforgettable experience. His knowledge, warmth, enthusiasm and love for Peru made our Sacred Valley journey every bit as memorable as our visit to Machu Picchu itself. Thank you, Michael, for giving us not just a tour, but a deeper understanding of the history, science, culture and natural beauty of Peru.

Excellent

My husband and I ran into the protest during our trip to Machupicchu in September 2025. Jesus was so helpful and arranged alternative route for us, so we would not miss it. He goes out of his way to make sure our stay is comfortable and enjoyable. I could not ask for a better agency to arrange my dream trip. I highly recommend them!

You can’t go wrong with this tour!

We had an amazing day on our private Sacred Valley Tour! Our guide Ulrich spoke great English, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. We were able to hit all the main spots of interest, and Ulrich was able to tailor the tour to our personal requests as we went. Our driver Redy made sure we had a spacious and clean vehicle to travel in, and that we got everywhere on time. I highly recommend booking this tour and requesting Ulrich as your guide. I also recommend reaching out to the tour company at least 24 hours in advance to confirm all the tour details. The private tour does cost slightly more than the large group tours we encountered on the way, but so worth it in the end!

Fun and educational tour

Couldn't have had a better guide than Jorge, he was very knowledgeable and charismatic. Jorge made sure everyone in the group participated in one way or another in a very organic manner. He was very considerate with the fact that we were travelling with a child that needed some time to keep up. Jaime the driver was great too!

Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco cost?

+

Prices start at $180 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco take?

+

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 110 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 22. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 12-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco?

+

Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Tour of Moray Salinas de Maras and The Sacred Valley from Cusco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
