A good day trip for an extra day in La Paz
We had an extra day in La Paz at the end of our trip so decided to go on this tour. We had a great guide in Leo and driver in Javier. It took around 2 hours to get to the site as there was some traffic going through El Alto on market Sunday. Leo was very knowledgable with history on the site - definitely think you need a guide when visiting this site. The ruins themselves may be underwhelming for some but we enjoyed visiting the ruins and the museums. Lunch was included in the tour and we ate at a nearby restaurant - lunch was good with a quinoa soup followed by a meat dish (I had chicken) and choose your own sides.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed review! We’re glad you enjoyed the tour, the history shared by Leo, and Javier’s driving. We’ll let them know about your kind words. It’s great to hear you also enjoyed the lunch and the visit to the ruins and museums.

Good day trip from La Paz
Good enough if you just want to learn a bit of Bolivian archeology. But our guide, Diego, was very good, giving us information beyond this experience. Even our driver, Alvaro, contributed some things about Bolivia, which we appreciated.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed learning about Bolivian archaeology and appreciated the insights shared by both Diego and Alvaro. It’s always great to hear that our team helped make the experience more enriching.

Amazing trip to Tiwanaku
It was the most important day of my ten-day trip to Peru and Bolivia, and Javier (the driver) and Diego (the guide) took me exactly to the places I wanted to go and in the way I wanted to go: with time to appreciate and feel the energy of the archaeological sites of Tiwnaku. I can only thank them for the kindness and care with which I was treated by both. I hope to return one day!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind message. We're so glad Javier and Diego made your visit to Tiwanaku a memorable one. It was an honor to be part of such an important day of your trip!

Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for La Paz.
How much does Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE cost?
+
Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in La Paz usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in La Paz is not rushed.
Is Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in La Paz, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE?
+

Is Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in La Paz can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in La Paz and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central La Paz within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in La Paz?
+
On Outty we rank every La Paz experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The World's Most Dangerous Road - Barracuda Biking's Death Road Riding, Death Road Biking Tour, Death Road, Bolivia: Mountain Bike Tour on the World's Most Dangerous Road. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit La Paz?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in La Paz?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What happens to Full-day Tiwanaku, the enigmatic empire PRIVATE if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in La Paz. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
