Bad service, lies and scam. Mal servicio, mentiras y estafa
I booked and paid in advance for a full day surf package, which included two hours of lessons in the morning, lunch, two hours in the afternoon, and a video recording. I did take the morning lesson. However, due to poor ocean conditions, their own staff advised against going back into the water in the afternoon and recommended that I leave. They clearly stated that I would be refunded for the cancelled afternoon lesson, the lunch, and the video that was never recorded. More than three weeks have passed. I have only received a partial refund for the video, and none of the remaining promised refund. Since then, they have stopped responding to messages and calls altogether. I am sharing this experience so other travelers are aware and can decide carefully before paying for full packages in advance. Sin embargo, por malas condiciones del mar, el mismo personal recomendó no volver a entrar al agua en la tarde y me sugirió retirarme, asegurando que me reembolsarían la clase cancelada, los alimentos y el video que nunca se grabó. Han pasado más de tres semanas. Solo recibí un reembolso parcial del video y no he recibido el resto del reembolso prometido. Desde entonces dejaron de responder mensajes y llamadas. Comparto mi experiencia para que otros viajeros estén informados y consideren bien antes de pagar paquetes completos por adelantado.
Response from the operator: We need to clarify this statement, as it does not accurately reflect what happened. You booked a Day Camp, which includes two surf lessons. You completed the morning lesson, and YOU personally decided not to take the second lesson, explaining that you felt the ocean conditions were not good. At NO POINT did our staff advise you to leave or cancel the afternoon session — conditions were suitable for lessons and other guests continued surfing. Because the photo/video package was scheduled for the second lesson, and you chose not to participate, we refunded you for that service, even though our refund policy (clearly stated on our website where you booked) does not allow refunds for same-day cancellations. Lunch was not provided because you chose to leave early. We have not stopped responding; we addressed the situation and processed the refund that applied to the service not used. We always aim to be transparent and fair with our guests, and we stand by how this was handled. – Macao Surf Camp Team 🌊

The experience was...
The experience was great!! Instructors was absolutely fabulous!! However we ordered the photo package to include video all photos and a gift…. The only thing we received was the photos via air drop… no video no “gift”…. More upset no video!!!

Loved Macao Surf Camp!
Fun Day Surfing with Macao Surf Camp. Nice, new foam longboards, great spot for beginner/intermediate surfers with sandy bottom and consistent waves. Instructors were awesome. Photographer took some great shots and fair price on photo package.

Great vibes - 10/10 day!
Spent the morning with Macao surf camp today for a private surf lesson and I can highly recommend them! The vibes were chilled and everyone was super friendly. We had a session learning on the beach first which was great before one on one time with an instructor (Kendrick) in the ocean. Kendrick was fantastic! Really patient, calm, and encouraging. He told me where to put my feet and how to adjust my balance and I was surfing almost straight away! We had photos and a video taken as well and they even created an instagram reel for us. Amazing work from the team and Kendrick, definitely check them out!
