    Not the excursion as posted!!!

The description of the excursion did not correlate with the actual trip!!!! 1: Skipper did not explain where we were going or what was there unless we asked him specifically. 2: The excursion description clearly states we would be visiting three islands to explore! We only went to one which only had a few extremely rocky and painful to sit on beaches, No Town. We tried to walk to the beach that had a bar but was too far and we had to turn around to get back to the boat on time. We were only docked for 1 hour. We then sailed to a cove where we were allowed to swim and had lunch on the boat. 3: We were promised snorkeling as described in the listing but all the snorkel equipment was broken. We clearly stated it was broken but the skipper never responded or tried to help. There was only two pieces of snorkel equipment which worked but the other family of 5 people had already claimed them. There were 8 people on the boat in total and only two snorkel masks that were not broken. 4: The description promised three course meal and drinks during the trip. We were offered a cup of white wine from a plastic previously used soda bottle and if wanted water that was also in a bottle previously used for soda as well. The meal was a falafel burger which was tasty and a chickpee salad also tasty and the dessert was small bite size pieces of chocolate cake. While that tasted good, was nothing to shout about. 5: The price did not reflect the experience what so ever. We would not recommend at all. When we asked for a refund the answer was nothing but rude. The skipper stated that he had the right to decide where we would sail to. He never said anything about weather related issues yet he indicated that in the email response. He also stated the equipment he would have helped with had we asked, we stated it was broken so not sure how else to ask! He also stated he doesn’t like to talk with or bother guests which we found ridiculous since we had no idea about the area and it is his job to tell us.

Response from the operator: This is the exact reason why I switched Viator bookings off couple of years ago and focused on our own web page direct booking, no one actually reads what they are buying so let's try to summarize it for possible future guests: -this is a sailboat so route depends on the skipper, always and forever -meals are simple as they have to be so we can bring them onboard and prevent them from going bad in 40-50 Celsius, in this case veggie burger with salad and tons of cakes you declined to eat, veggie meal was prepared on your request -I would love to visit couple of islands during this trip but there really is no time for that, we visit either Brac or Solta or Ciovo, you will definitely have time for a swim and most probably visit one of the island towns -I also work with vineries so wine offered on this trip is premium white wine from one of the ancient wineries in Kastela region, yes we bring it to the boat in big jugs, not in glass bottles because of the safety of our guests, same works for the cups which are either plastic or metal you will drink the wine from, we have been doing this for 10 years now and we have never injured anyone, I intend to keep it that way, water we pour is actually in Tupperware bottle -notion about masks and snorkels is just not true Susan, I was the skipper that day and not a single word from you was ever pointed at me, had you asked me I would have fixed your masks or find another ones -I don't force my guests into conversation so I chatted for hours with the other group while your family has not moved from the bow during the entire trip, you see skipper has to actually steer the boat and controls are in the stern, also on the way to Solta I came to the bow and explained you where we are going Damir Djerek, owner

Great day but food poor and not enough snorkelling equipment for guests

Lovely boat. Extremely competent skipper, you could see that as he had to contend with bad weather on the way back. However food was poor. Two of our daughters did not eat the cold veggie burgers in white bun and disappointingly when you are paying nearly £150 each there were not enough flippers to go round and many of the masks were unserviceable. A good day out but I would recommend when the boat stops somewhere go and buy yourself a decent lunch and prior to going check with the owner that he has enough flippers and masks for all guests.

Response from the operator: Burgers we currently serve have been prepared by our chef and they have to be cold, temperatures here in the summer are 40-50 Celsius. Boat has enough equipment if you would only talk to the skipper, I was a skipper that day and I would have solved that. However you never said a word and I was inside in the salon when you went snorkeling. Damir Djerek, owner

    Favorite Excursion!

Small intimate vessel, our group of 2, another group of 6 plus 2 crew, seemed to be just the right number for this laid back day of sailing, swimming and snorkeling. The lunch and wine (and pre-lunch snack) provided was terrific. We visited a picturesque sleepy island for about an hour to swim and explore as well. Perfect way to relax! I'd book again in a heart beat!

Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.

How much does Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split cost?

    +

Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Small-Group Dalmatian Coast Sailing Cruise from Split start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Split?

    +

On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Split?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Split?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
