Our amazing tour guide

We joined the 14-day tour organized by flashpacker. Miguel was our tour guide for the rainbow mountain day tour on May 29th. He was so diligent that he called us a day prior to the tour to explain the details and preparation (Alfredo from flashpacker also called to explain the details which we are thankful!). Miguel and the driver arrived early to pick us up. He is very caring and encouraging to our whole group while hiking. He is skilful in choosing the route to hike. He also shared with us knowledge about the rainbow mountain and red valley. I appreciate him very much especially because there was a small emergency where one of our group mates cut his fingers, he had all the essential kits to help treat the wound. I cannot recommend Miguel more. I also would like to thank our driver for driving us at such an early hour and waiting for us during the hike. He has been our driver for several days navigating around Cusco and has been very helpful and friendly. I think his name is Victor but sorry if I got his name wrong.

Valley tour: from rainbow mountain to red valley

This was such an amazing hike to experience the beauty of the rainbow mountain and even more beautiful the red valley and hike along the side of another mountain heading back to the van. And to top it off we saw an eagle on the last turn of our hike! Mindel was a super great tour guide keeping up a nice pace and making sure we were feeling ok along the way! He had really interesting facts and easy conversations which made the experience all the better ! Alpacas could be seen everywhere and I just have to say again how beautiful this entire area is and I would happily come again to continue exploring the valleys. As well I have to mention Jose who drove the long drives both to and from along snake like roads. I usually get car sick but this time was fine! Anyways, my partner I couldn’t be happier it was truly a kind of life changing experience that I will always remember !

Incredible experience . 10/10 reccomend!

Incredible experience. This is a small group tour and the availability may not always be there! The response to my booking was really fast and informative. They didnt have a full group available for the day i chose, but they gave me the option to run solo for a little extra dollars! Dont think about it, do it! My company for the day was Beker and Jurgen. They were on time to my hotel and so attentive. We began our trek super early and Beker was super patient with me allowing me to take my own pace as the altitude can hit you. Took the best pictures and answered every question!

Wake up early to beat the crowds: it's worth it!

I would highly recommend going with FlashPackerConnect! One of the main advantages is the early departure from Cusco (between 03:00 and 03:30), ensuring a timely arrival on the mountain. When we were heading back down, we saw hundreds of tourists making their way up: tourists that we manages to avoid on our pictures!

Freddy and team made this a magical day

From start to finish, our 12 hour day with Freddy (guide) and Fernando (driver) was absolutely stellar. Our private tour in a small, comfortable van included blankets, breakfast and snacks, followed (after the hike) by a delicious Peruvian lunch made with love by Chef Mario, served in his lovely home. What a special way to wrap up a spectacular day! Our trek up Rainbow Mountain and across to the Red Valley was perfectly paced, with Freddy sharing stories and information along the way. Our 3am departure meant we were heading down the mountain as the crowds were heading up. It is SO worth getting up in the dark to beat the crowds! We booked this adventure for our last day in Peru and it meant we went out with a bang. It is a remarkable experience and we are so thrilled to have done it.

Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco cost?

+

Prices start at $175 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco take?

+

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 255 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 13-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco?

+

Around 89 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Small-Group Trek from Cusco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
