Disappointing experience – I would not recommend this tour
Unfortunately, this was the most disappointing day tour I have ever taken. Communication was poor from the start: I had to contact the operator myself the evening before the tour to find out when and where we would be picked up. The next morning, we were picked up early from our hotel and taken to another location, where we then waited 45 minutes for the actual tour bus. As the real tour bus arrived already full, we have to board last, we ended up with four adults squeezed into the narrow back row. (I've booked the tour 1 month before, and paid in advance, while some passangers picked up earlier booked last minute and paid on the spot...) - the tour was advertised for a maximum of 15 participants, but there were 16 passengers. We spent approximately 7 hours of the day in this extremely uncomfortable minibus. The rear windows were covered with advertising film, so our view was also severely restricted. I think all passengers paying the same price should receive a comparable level of comfort!!!! The sightseeing itself was enjoyable, but the time actually spent visiting the destinations was very limited compared with the time spent travelling and waiting. The advertised itinerary included a 40-minute visit to Mercado El Parián handicraft market in Puebla, but this stop was omitted entirely. Instead, the group was taken to a small tourist shop next to the restaurant. I contacted the tour operator afterwards to complain and request a partial refund. After initially saying they would investigate, they simply told me to pursue the refund through the booking platform. Puebla and Cholula are absolutely worth visiting. I would choose a different tour operator.

Calm tour of Puebla and Cholula
The tour was great. Arturo was nice and knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed visiting the churches and learning about their histories.

Really bad service I don't recommended
It was a terible expirience. We arrive to CDMX and book this trip to have a good day. In morning we have some issue to meet the startpoint and I wrote them to ask what is the final startingpoint to get there. They said that are not willing to wait for us. The worst thing was that I arrive to the starting point 5 mintos before the time in the ticket and they just left without us.

Exploring Puebla
We recently went on a tour in Puebla, Mexico, and overall, it was a very good experience. The city is beautiful, rich in culture and history, and the tour itself was well-organized and informative. Our guide was knowledgeable and passionate, which really added to the experience. However, one thing that could have made the tour even better would be the use of headsets or audio equipment. At times, especially in noisy or crowded areas, it was difficult for everyone to hear the guide clearly—particularly when he was translating from Spanish to English. Having headsets would ensure that everyone can follow along and not miss any important details. Despite that, I would still recommend this tour to others. It’s a great way to explore Puebla and learn more about its unique heritage.

The best tour!!
I got curious about this excursion by browsing online for tours to Puebla. This specific tour caught my attention because it offered a guide in Spanish, which was perfect for my mom to have a better experience listening to the language she knows best. The tour guide Adrian and my driver were so informative, nice and funny. We were lucky to be in a van of only women and although it was a long drive to Puebla and Cholula they made sure that we were comfortable and entertained. They were able to provide us with a lot of stops in some beautiful unique churches, landmarks and best of all were the stops at two mercados. The Mercado that we stopped at towards the end of the tour was the best because they had so many options of treats, clothes, souvenirs and pretty much anything you are looking for! I really loved that it wasn’t an all talking tour, because they also allowed us to listen to music, take pictures, eat and ask questions. Adrian’s dad was in charge of the English tour and Adrian was our tour guide, but they were both great! And of course the driver too, because he made sure that we had AC in the van, able to listen to the music and transport us carefully. We had such an amazing time that we even became friends with some ladies that we met on the tour. Honestly you will not regret what you pay for the excellent service!

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City cost?
+
Prices start at $58 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day: Puebla and Cholula From Mexico City start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
