City Tour in Hanoi! Full of learning about Vietnam History!

We visited Hoa Lo Prison, the Temple of Literature, and the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, and it was an excellent experience. The admission fee was on us but Thomas used the student discount so it was nice 😊. The length of the visit also very nice, we take our time to immerse the culture and history. Our guide, Thomas, was very knowledgeable and explained the history in a clear and engaging way, which made the tour much more meaningful and enjoyable. He also recommended a great local restaurant that we really enjoyed. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Hanoi — thank you, Thomas, for a memorable trip!

The highlight of my Hanoi trip!

I honestly had no plans for what to do while in Hanoi, so my friend and I decided to try Hanoi e.Buddies on a whim. It turned out to be the best decision and the most exciting experience we had in the city! Our guide was Rachel, a university student here. She was incredibly kind and her English was excellent. She took us to some amazing local food spots that only locals know about, which was exactly what we were looking for. Aside from the "must-visit" landmarks, she shared so much about Vietnamese culture and history. You can tell she really knows her stuff! I highly recommend this tour if you want to explore Hanoi and see it through the eyes of a local student. If I ever come back to Hanoi, I will definitely reach out to them again.

I was really enjoy spending my time with Rin as my guide to strolling around Hanoi. She was very informative and gave a lot of cultural knowledge about some historical sites in the city. I would highly recommend this tour service option when you are visiting Vietnam.

Best way to experience Hanoi, with the best guide ever

I found Hanoi ebuddies through an insta reel and immediately saved it for my Hanoi travel. It was the best discussion ever since we covered so many places so while also getting in-depth knowledge about the history by the best tour guide ever, Thomas. He changed the itinerary according to the places I wanted to hit up and even helped me throughout my trip to the rest of Vietnam by suggesting personalised itineraries and places to eat at. He sent me a whole list of Michelin guide and local restaurants that I asked for after the walking tour was finished. Over all, it was delightful.

Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City cost?

    +

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Private Walking Tour in Hanoi City start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
