Exceeded expectations
We rented a private boat with the company and it was a wonderful experience in Cartagena. Punctual, receptive, polite, proactive. Everything was perfect from hiring to the tour with the best sailors.
Response from the operator: Muito obrigada pelo seu feedback!

Terrible service: crew turned off Bluetooth, acted intimidating, and operators refused refund or apology.
We booked a private tour; the outbound trip went smoothly. However, on the return, the boat crew turned off the Bluetooth. After repeatedly asking them to turn it back on, the captain stopped the boat in the open sea and, in an excessively intimidating manner, said he didn’t know how to do it and didn’t want any trouble with me since —according to him— he had not made any direct arrangement with me. Once we reached the dock, I contacted the operators requesting either a refund or at least an apology. Their response was that their only obligation was to transport us at the agreed times, and that any additional services were not part of the agreement. In short: terrible service and an aggressive crew (even dangerous) Hicimos un tour privado; la ida transcurrió sin inconvenientes.

Bring your own Snorkels
Having our own boat was great, the staff was super nice and we felt very safe with them. We were very disappointed that we were not able to snorkel though. The activity states that they will provide snorkels and water so we did not bring our snorkels. Once we got to the snorkeling site they told us that they did not have them and we would have to rent from the beach, for $20 each I believe. This was a huge part of why we booked this excursion so we were frustrated. Ended up spending the day on an average beach with overpriced beers.
Response from the operator: We sincerely regret to hear that your experience onboard was not what you expected, especially due to the lack of snorkels, an important feature we had promised. We fully understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience caused. At Luxury Sailing, we strive to provide memorable experiences, and we know this situation did not live up to our standards or your expectations. We are already internally reviewing what happened to ensure this does not happen again in the future. We greatly appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve.

Nile cruise with the Magic 2.
Nile boat the Magic 2 looks very common on the outside, but inside it is reminiscent of the 1920s-30s. So nice and clean! The boat has very friendly and competent staff. The guide, Reda van Breda, is an Egyptologist and does his job very well.
Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you so much for your review. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again soon.

Serviceable, could have been better
The tour/boat itself was fine, we went where we wanted without any issue. However, I paid for an English speaking guide, and her English was not particularly great and required us repeating ourselves several times in order to convey our meaning. It didn't cause an immense distraction to the day itself, but it was a bit disappointing to not have someone who could communicate fluently with us for the price that we paid. At lunch, food also comes out very slowly (use the beach during this time, I feel like a better tour guide would have advised us to do this), and you are prompted to order food for the boat captain (this should be disclosed explicitly in advance; it was not). These didn't detract meaningfully from the experience overall, but I would expect a higher standard of service for this type of trip.
Response from the operator: I'm glad you liked the experience overall, sorry for the inconvenience. Regarding the food for the crew, it is not an obligation for any of our clients to buy lunch for them, it's up to the you if you want to invite them something or not.

Why this scores 44
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.
How much does Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft cost?
+
Prices start at $735 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.
Is Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 44 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day Private Tour of the Rosario Islands by Boat 29/30 ft start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cartagena?
+
On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Street Food Tour: 10 Local Tastings in the Walled City, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena Cooking Class with Local Chef (Small Group Experience). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cartagena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
