Three women on a family trip!

On the 27th of December we went on a Tecapopo/Pukaki/Mount Cook tour from Christchurch! It was a hasty trip and I had a lot of worries and a lot of scheduling changes, but I was able to take care of you and help you with a lot of help on the trip! My mother was worried that traveling abroad was a long time ago, and I had a happy and enjoyable time with my family without a single problem. The guide's explanation was very helpful and fun!

Response from the operator: 잘 다녀오셨다니 다행입니다~ 남은 여정 즐거운 시간 보내시길 바랄게요~ 멋진 리뷰 감사합니다~

Tour was alright, guide could be better

While the tour offered breathtaking views of Mt Cook, Lake Tekapo, and Lake Pukaki, we were disappointed with our guide. Ted, a Korean man, struggling with his English, which made the tour exhausting. His thick accent and difficulty finding the right words were distracting and frustrating, making us feel we could have done the tour ourselves. Beyond the language barrier, Ted was surprisingly condescending and patronizing. He lacked empathy and compassion when Ted took us to a small town for a toilet break, where everything was closed, and insisted everyone leave the van despite the cold. My brother, who had frostbite, was physically forced to zip up his jacket by Ted, which felt intrusive and rude. Imagine that happening to you! He also rushed us from place to place, despite us being the only group on the tour, repeatedly exclaiming, "You're late!" This resulted in us having an hour to spare, which was disheartening. This behavior was unlike the kind and considerate attitude we've experienced from other guides in New Zealand. Overall, Ted's attitude was not representative of New Zealand hospitality. We have had much better experiences with other guides, and we could have enjoyed the tour more on our own. Ted, none of us thinks you're funny (or witty, if that's what you're going for) or intelligent. It's a shame that we got him for this tour - the only black spot in our whole NZ trip. We recommend looking for tours led by actual local New Zealanders to truly appreciate the country's rich history. It's unfortunate we didn't have Steve as our guide, as other reviews suggest a much more positive experience with him.

Response from the operator: Hi, I'm Steve. Firstly , thanks for your feed back about our tour. I do apologize about the quality of tour guide in Christchurch. I normally use native tour guide, or local tour guide, and as I offering bilingual tours so that we use any kinds of nationality tour guide in New Zealand. what you are saying is about the behavior of tour guide. It was first time for me to use him as our tour guide honestly. At that time, we didn't have enough tour guide in Christchurch. All our tour guides were fully booked. I didn't really know about his behavior is bad. I'm really do apologize about what you've experienced. Next time, when you come to NZ again, I will definitely guide you around in New Zealand.

Awesome Mt Cook !!

The Mount Cook daily tour with Travel Solution was fantastic. We stopped at the rest area properly so that the 12-hour tour was not boring at all. The kind explanation of the guide was made everywhere, which was an opportunity to understand New Zealand. The car was comfortable enough. Travel Solution is recommended.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the wonderful review for us. It was pleasure to meet you through our tour. Hope you had a great memory of New Zealand. Thank you

Private family trip -!!

I'm impressed by the carefulness you keep in touch with my mother coming from Korea and telling me about the passage gate! It was a friendly and comfortable trip taking into account the condition of the mother and seven-year-old child who started the trip right upon arrival. It would have been hard to drive. Everywhere. I was especially pleased to create great photos and videos like movies -!! My mother loved it so much that she would go to Korea and watch videos every day - thank you for making our family a lifelong unforgettable memory -!!

Response from the operator: 코로나 이후로 첫 투어를 예약해주셔서 감사합니다. ^^ 여행했던 추억을 잊지 않고 기억되길 바래요

Wonderful tour to Mt.Cook and Tekapo Lake.

I have travelled Mt.Cook with my friend and our trip was fully guided by Stevong who is the director of Travel Solution ltd. I was so impressed that I can visit Mt.Cook for a day trip from Christchurch. I only had a day left to travel. This tour was perfect for me. On the way, he stopped at Tekapo lake, and pukaki lake as well. It was super fantastic that I could visit this places. I'm strongly recommend this company for private tour. Also it was super safe and very cleaned vehicle. I deeply thanks to Stevong and this company to organize the tour for us. Thank you.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your great review for us. I believe that you enjoyed your trip with us.

Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Christchurch.

How much does Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch cost?

+

Prices start at $2300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Christchurch usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Christchurch is not rushed.

Is Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Christchurch, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Christchurch can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Christchurch and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full-Day Private Tour Mt.Cook from Christchurch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Christchurch within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Christchurch?

+

On Outty we rank every Christchurch experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include TranzAlpine Train, Arthur's Pass and Castle Hill Day Trip, Lord of the Rings, Journey to Edoras Day Tour from Christchurch, Mount Cook, Lake Tekapo and Tasman Glacier Tour from Christchurch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Christchurch?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Christchurch?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
