Best tour operator we ever had!
Sunflower and the guide Maggie were the best tour operators we have ever had. I would rate 8 stars if I could! Sunflower was very flexible in working with us to adjust the itinerary to our preferences. We saw Tiananmen, the Forbidden City, Lama Temple, Wudaoying Hutong and Houhai Hutongs. Maggie was a fantastic guide, she was knowledgeable, competent, and kind. Maggie was an expert in both the history and cultural background of the sites, as well as all the best places to take photos. It cannot be overstated how valuable that is — tourist spots in Beijing will always be very busy and Maggie knew the best places and moments to snap a good picture. She was also incredibly hard working, we started at 8am and finished around 5pm, both at our hotel. Maggie would have had to commute to and from on both ends! I have never encountered a tour guide so generous with their time. I hope Maggie got a good day of rest the next day! We had lunch at a local Beijing restaurant and Maggie helped us order to our tastes, including accommodating a vegetarian in our group. The lunch, admission, and all car rides were included in the cost. Maggie handled all the car hailing, always in a premium private car. We were very lucky to have found Sunflower and Maggie. While we are outsiders to Beijing, we are familiar with China and the possibility of being taken advantage of as tourists. It can be hard to know, even from carefully reading reviews, whether a tour operator is quality. We even had this happen with a different tour operator in Beijing who cheaped out on the included lunch, and wasted our time trying to sell us tea, not to mention having a far worse disposition and attitude. And this was in spite of seemingly positive reviews! I feel that with Sunflower and Maggie, because they are a small business with a personal brand, they hold themselves to a higher level of accountability. They also don’t have any kickback schemes with expensive shops for gullible foreigners. They make money only from you, and their continued business depends on their good reputation. When we come back to China in the future, we will be working with Sunflower and Maggie for all our tours/experiences.

Sensational Sunflower!
We highly recommend Sunflower's Tours! My husband and I booked Sunflower for 2 days of private tours. The first was Tian'namen Square and The Forbidden City. We were immediately taken with Sunflower's warm friendly personality, her knowledge of Beijing and her love for her city was infectious. We appreciated the high quality of cars and drivers on both tour days. At The Forbidden City having her as our guide we whizzed passed the very long lines and she was able to take us to the best vantage points to see all on offer as well as tell us all about the history. The Great Wall, Mutianyu, was our highlight and once again Sunflower tailored the tour as she knew we wanted to get to the highest point we could go, Gate 20. She knows the Wall so well, so we got taken to the best view points and as a result got some incredible photos. It was a pleasure to spend two days with such a lovely person, we feel as if we have a friend in Beijing when we next return and look forward to seeing more of Beijing next time.

Sunflower Rocks!
Myself and a few work colleagues used Sunflower for a 2 day tour package of Beijing while we were in town for business meetings. Sunflower exceeded all of our expectations! She has an infectiously positive attitude, a great knowledge of the city of Beijing and history of China, knows the geography, and was very organized with respect to timing of transportation (her driver was great too), meals, shopping, etc. She speaks very good English, which is helpful in a country where most people do not speak the language. Sunflower was also very reasonably priced. We had a great time and would highly recommend Sunflower for your tour guide needs. I would absolutely use her again!

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day Private Tour Incredible Beijing City Highlights start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
